USLEEP: I work off of fixes made by USLEEP. You should already have it, anyway.
RDO: Relationship Dialogue Overhaul enables Nirya's voicetype to have follower dialogue.
CRF: Cutting Room Floor restores the "Research Thief" quest, where you must steal some research notes from Faralda and give them to Nirya. This raises Nirya's disposition towards you, making her willing to follow you. Otherwise, you would have to go all the way through the College of Winterhold questline in order to raise her disposition enough.

In the 2018 Edition screenshots, I am using Skyrim HD (Lite version), Static Mesh Improvement Mod, Bethesda Hi-Res DLC Optimized (1K version), CBBE with Mature Skin (NSFW), Improved Eyes Skyrim, Immersive College of Winterhold, and RUSTIC CLOTHING. In the 2016 Edition screenshots, I am using Cover Eyes and Wet and Cold 2.0 with most of the aforementioned mods.

Man I honestly have no idea why, but I always liked her! Even though she makes it pretty hard for her to be liked! LOL The sad part is that she's rather useless as an NPC! Doesn't seem to have the skills that her colleagues have, nor does she provide additional quests! She seems kinda sorta stuck there to give exposition. not really that unique of a position when it comes to that!
I've always wanted to figure out a way to give her an appearance swap with Minerva, and turn her into a follower at the same time! But I'm kinda an amateur when it comes to modding Skyrim! So maybe I'll use your mod as my base LOL....of course this is only for me! If I get around to playing Skyrim again that is! Man setting up this game properly is a nightmare sometimes.
On the other hand! I've had a look at the files! I find it strange that you can actually use text documents as mods, never heard of this method before! So basically a bunch of console commands all issued at once! Clever!
I've always liked her, too. I prefer followers who don't throw roses at my feet and sass you. Hearing Lydia's "I am sworn to carry your burdens..." after coming back from two-year hiatus felt like I was coming home.
The way Skyrim is put together is a hot mess, it's a wonder I haven't completely rage quit yet. It's great once I do get everything up and running, but then something new and shiny comes along and everything is thrown out of whack once again.
Yup, console commands can be used to make mods! That's initially how I got my start before branching out and learning how to use xEdit to make mods. I might get brave enough to use the Creation Kit someday...
Oh God! Don't even get me started on the "Something New And Shiny" part of this process! I honestly felt like I should have shotgunned myself a few times for not leaving well enough alone! This game genuinely makes you hate yourself sometimes! And then comes the process of reading threw forums to find the particular solution for the once in a blue moon bug that happens to have happened to you and just to you, makes you feel ALL special and warm and fuzzy inside.....BE ADVISED SARCASM REACHING CRITICAL UNSAFE LEVELS!
Oh and guess what! Those bugs I mentioned, they happen even without a single mod installed, how do you like them Sweetrolls!
It is a testament to how good this game is if people still put up with its crap almost a decade later! Seriously I love this game, yes despite the fact that I just threw a lot of sh** its way! And yes I'm even starting to miss Lydia.
