Most unsupported mods I use I know, I'm doing it at my own risk and blah blah blah... And mostly, with just a *little* coaxing, they all work fine. This one I just can't get to work. CTDs around the area it should be, and weird terrain. I don't have anything else near it (and I mean NOTHING-- Whiterun is not my favorite area so it's basically vanilla, almost the whole hold, except for SFO, ETaC around Riverwood and the new fully upgradeable Breezehome). I'm not even sure how to begin fixing it since it's the only thing around, deactivating my Breezehome didn't work which I knew it wouldn't, and I'm not disabling SFO or ETaC for anything but it didn't change anything either.
Wish someone would pick this mod up, I've never had problems with anything on GEMS before and I really miss the Arena, seems like a great mod. It's almost certainly using an outtdated Skyrim version for one thing, last updated in 2012.
And edit-- Screw the Steam Workshop. It's like the Apple of the modding community. No control, no visibility. I'll just live without the mod, thanks. Why not put the "more stable" version on the Nexus? Idk, but I use Steam exactly as little as possible and never for mods on any game.
From the first moment I approached the arena by horse, and got stuck on the right side architecture (inside the stone structure with the locked door on the side) due to the stupid horse controls, and had to reload... I started paying attention to small details and realized this mod looks crude. It's lacking the attention to detail seen in almost all great mods.
The premise might be good, but the execution seems rushed. Besides - It does seem to might my game slightly unstable, but then again it's heavily modded.
This mod is dangerous. Do not install. I lost too much time trying to find out what caused my CTD's and this mod was probably the most critical factor. Unless you're gonna install less than like 20 mods, you've been warned.
well i mean, there wasn't all that many games since morrowind, so the choices weren't very varied.. but you know haha, i agree though, morrowind and skyrim are both better then oblivion, it was bland, boring, generic, and was basically morrowind for children.. it didnt hit buttons for me, and the few features it had (like an arena) were boring.
The only advantage Skyrim has over Oblivion is engine and what comes with it. Oblivion had better story (and a more logical one) Skyrim has the same thing that bugged me with Morrowind. In morrowind you are a Nerevar reincarnated aka Nerevarine, and it would make sense you are a Dunmer. For skyrim the most logical is to be Nord. In Oblivion you are actually completely free when it comes to race choices, because it actually makes sense and it's actually believeable. Main quest is way better written in Oblivion, it could've gone in to more details but hey... The difference is Skyrim has two MQ: Alduin and Civil war (and in my opinion CW is better, although with CWO). Also Dark Brotherhood quest is better in Oblicion rather than Skyrim. Thieves guild as well. Fighters guild, mages guild, arena, cities, everything was done better in Oblivion. That doesn't mean Skyrim is bad, but if Oblivon and Skyrim were in the same engine, Oblivion beats skyrim anytime, content wise...
I'll agree with you on the Dark Brotherhood quest, but thats about it. I didn't play Oblivion as much as most people, but I do like the story moree and such. But, the fighters guild imo.. bland af and boring. lol Companions are way better. Again, my opinion. :b
funny s#*! to read here^^ oblivion better than skyirm? no way. oblivion was a bit harder, and not that easy like skrim. but its a small shadow of skyrim now..even the animations..oblivion had near nothing. than i read something like "its only makes sence to play nord" rassist in ovlivion you only play imperial or what?^^ who cares what race you play? i read this opinions and i see that you really tryhard seraching for things you dont like on skyrim so that you can hate it. dont do that. its a fantastic game and elder scrolls 6 will be even better. after fallout 4 off course
What does oblivion have that Skyrim doesn't: 1. Fast Travel Random Encounters 2. Better Voice Actors (although very few are good IMO in Skyrim all the rest sound partially monotone.) 3. You couldn't join every guild. Anything else I'm missing here?
What does Skyrim have that Oblivion doesn't 1. Playability (because of Mods) 2. Every single race has health magicka and stamina regen whereas Oblivion and Morrowind didn't. Anything else I might be missing here?
In my opinion neither game is great because each have their faults. Since Bethesda couldn't fix a majority of the bugs for Skyrim the modding community had to do it for them which in my opinion is lazy game programming...even for a web developer such as myself.
His opinion doesn't make yours any less valid. This discussion shows how insecure is people about their own tastes.
Perception. Understanding of disagreement means comprehension. While judgmental behaviors represent insecurities about what we consider to be our personal truth. "It's at risk, we need to defend it" None of that.
It's not like you don't care about what others believe, quite the opposite. Now you get it, so you can smile from from heart, and walk on, without the need to impose your personal interpretation on others.

If you want an arena based mod, with a lil gambling too, try "Faction Pit Fighter" There's an addon for it also if you have all DLC's
