EFA is a mod that changes the expression tri files. Those tri files are applied to both player and NPCs at the same time. Problem is, player facegen is created at game start from installed meshes. NPC facegens are what is installed on your machine. Just installing EFA mouth mesh is only good for player. That is why sooo many people have problems with this mod. It'll work for player, but not NPCs...as they lack the needed mouth mesh built into their facegens. Followers and Overhauls must make facegens with EFA mouth mesh in order to be compatible.
Unless EFA has the upgraded facegens, then it is not standalone, or rather, it is incomplete. You can't create an expression mod that relies on it's own mouth mesh without applying that to all NPC facegens as well. I mean, you can, but then you end up with the buggy behavior that people report, lol. That is part of the reason I added this support for EFA in my facegen mod.
As for Followers and Overhauls, please look/ask for versions which specifically support EFA, as that will show they are built with the correct mouth meshes. I hope this helps make it clearer.
Male Wood Elves have a bug with their facegen, where a chunk of skin in front of their left ear clips out over their hairline. The deleted mod edited the default tri to tuck that piece underneath. This mod overwrites the same tri, without fixing that area.
This mod is NOT causing this bug to return. I haven't tracked it down yet, but it is NOT this mod, my bad!
Malehead.tri included in the EFA is a file for facial animation, which does not include facial shapes or race characteristics. Charagen morphs control the shape of the face, Race morphs control the characteristics of the race, and EFA does not include these. In addition, EFA is designed to keep the vertices around the temples stationary to avoid clipping as much as possible. Be aware that you are misunderstanding.
The clipping is a vanilla bug. It is visible without mods, and with this mod installed. The deleted mod's tri corrected this. ( the .tri was the only thing it included) It is a very small fix that we would appreciate being included.
I don't know what I'm misunderstanding; this mod overwrites that mod's .tri.
First you say that Maleheadrace.tri is in conflict, but EFA does not include that file. This file should have fixed the wood elf clipping. And if this fix is sufficient, there will be no problem if EFA overwrites some of the above mods.
I reinstalled everything recently and have a conflict somewhere... I have no idea where my maleheadrace.tri came from, and it only appeared after installing this (and some body mods), but this was a coincidence.

If you are experiencing the male wood elf bug, it is a conflict somewhere.

Now I even love the way Teldryn Sero tells me about the bandits he pursued... on foot... for three days
Thank you!
