    Change Log:

    1.0 - initial release

    1.5 - New feature! - now affects three npc horses and their riders. Attack them with fire or shock and watch them be blasted from the saddle. Other attacks will just force dismount. Note that skyrim does not normally let npcs ride horses. You will need a mod that adds mounted riders to really enjoy this feature. For testing I added a Whiterun Militia Rider that patrols back and forth between Riverwood and Whiterun.
    New feature! - horse will slow down if not riding on a road. About a 40 percent speed hit. Can be toggled on and off in the mcm menu.

    Would it be possible to apply these effects to mounted NPCs, as well? Or would that be very script-heavy?

      I was thinking riders in general. So if you were fighting enemies on horseback, you'd have a chance to dismount them and they'd have a chance to dismount you.

      So...I just realized that I forgot mounted combat for NPCs isn't a vanilla function. I use Mounted Combat for Everyone (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/75197) but it's a mod and I know making compatibility with other mods can be a hassle. If you're willing to make it compatible, I'd use Horses on Patrol (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/57727) to add mounted NPCs (guards, so you'll have to provoke them) for testing purposes. But I understand if you don't want to deal with that hassle. Thanks for being open to the suggestion, anyway. :)

      I went ahead and added the suggestion. But I had to change up a few things.

      1) by default, when a rider in skyrim gets hit, he dismounts. He does not fight on the horse, so another mod for that would be good. Pretty sure there is one somewhere
      2) up to three horses and riders are supported . If they are hit by fire or shock they will be blown off horse.
      3) otherwise, they will either dismount nicely or tumble off the horse.

      I added a Whiterun Militia mounted rider that starts off at riverwood and patrols to whiterun, then comes back to riverwood. Took me an evening just to get that to work.

      Will release an update soonish, need to test it first.

    Brilliant idea, and I wanted to ask if your horse can die in mounted combat? Also, would it be possible to make enemies target your horse in priority?

      Wether horses can die depends on other horse mods you have. Many mods protect them.

      No, I cannot make enemies attack horse first. They choose.

    So, basically I can get dismounted because the horse panicks?
    I'm asking, because I already get dismouted when receiving enough damage ( or my horse). Ok, this could as well be because of a mod I'm using (slightly losing track of my mods. Thera are so many...^^).

      That’s one scenario. Or if ambushed. Or if player or steed are hit. Chance for each is rolled per cell when it happens, based on Mcm setting.
