The game can get a little shaky when entering the soul gem. I've done what I can to keep things stable, but the game really hates what I did to the cell (and you can see for yourself why). It works most of the time in my testing, but does occasionally manifests itself as some visual glitches.
I appreciate any feedback, criticism or suggestions.
Update on the SE port: I'm unfortunately having an issue getting the meshes to work. Nif-Optimizer doesn't seem to know what to do with the animated pieces, and I've had a similar experience converting them manually. I'll need a block of time to play around with it and see if I can figure it out. No ETA.
the author's last activity (that I can tell) was uploading this mod... if the author is dead does this mod fall under Creative Commons if it does some one like Vicn could really unleash the potential of this mod.
2025 and I thought this was finally going to get an sse port, well AE now. Literally the only companion I took when I was still playing in LE.
Someone hire a necromancer and resurrect them back to life so they can port it to AE and they can finally rest in peace afterwards. Or just share it w/ me for those who have ported themselves.
I was able to port the mod, albeit with some problems namely missing textures and having to teleport out of Mari's soulgem (at least when you first go in).
I really wish someone would port this to special edition. I tried everything to get this to work but it just wouldn't. I tried using creation kit, I used cathedral assets optimizer, I tried using sseedit autoclean but absolutely nothing worked. The closest I got it to working was that I was able to actually open the game without it crashing and I was able to spawn mari, but she just appeared as 2 oval shapes instead of her actual model. It's infuriating, I have never struggled so much to get a single mod to function before.
well since this is the most recent comment I'll reply here. I play in VR so your mileage may vary. Mari's mesh called "headbase.nif" is corrupt, for me at least, this is most likely due to SSE reading NPC files differently than LE. So delete that file and she will stop CTDing you when she appears. Next mari's animations are suited for FNIS but no one uses FNIS anymore, so in the meshes folder, there is her animations folder, and in that folder the animations all have the prefix of like "mao" or something like so it'll say "maomt_idle.hbx" or whatever. If you use dar, then just create a folder for her using the dar folder structure and remove the "mao" prefix off of her animations then add them to the folder. if you use OAR, it doesnt matter still use the structure like you're using dar and OAR will recognize it.
Then if she looks goofy in your game texture wise, then open up nifscope and just correct her texture paths. If you have issues after that, you can check in ssedit to make sure the texture paths match. She works fine, it was really just that "headbase.nif" that was causing issues for me which was an instant CTD
I tried everything you suggested, and it seems like all of these steps make her work correctly in Special Edition (at least, more correctly), but I'm still stumped on how to get her textures to show up properly in-game. I also tried looking at her texture paths via NifSkope, and it seems like everything was how it was supposed to be. So I wanted to ask, do you have any idea what else might be causing this texture issue?
With FNIS essentially being “dead”, and Nemesis taking the reigns, does anyone know if Nemesis will be able to suffice for this specific mod (instead of FNIS)? I’d sincerely appreciate the help
Forgive the total necro of this comment but I just wanted to say that yes, the mod works with only Nemesis. Given that I started my save with FNIS and changed halfway through (and after getting her as a follower) to Nemesis so it could affect it.
A problem I find that I have no idea if FNIS/Nemesis have something to do with is the soulgem "player home" that basically doesn't work but given that they're both animation mods I doubt they have anything to do with this.

I was actually just coming down to the comments here to check if anyone had asked about Nemesis yet, only to find that actually, I did lol, and I completely forgot that I did. I still don't remember writing that comment, but I'm super grateful to you for replying to it with the answer to my question. So I guess, necro forgiven! hahahaha
i use both FNIS and Nemesis and it works just fine with both or just one or the other Nemesis is more of a patcher than anything else really used to fix animations that get broken when used together at least the way i use it so really there's no reason to NOT have FNIS for the mods that require it as using nemesis and ticking the correct patches fixes everything
