Can someone port over the files from vanilla SAE to SLE+SSE now that it's a canon addition?

I just tried this mod out. It looks like every 3rd fishing attempt is broken. It was actually pretty cool to fish, though...

I'm downloading it right now, for Enderal too, hopefully worked for you, so it means for me too. Enderal is amazing and I wanted even more immersion xD

The fishing lod is more like a weapen now. If your character equipt one or two weapons in hand, he will draw out this fishing lod with the weapon and this is break the fishing realism. Maybe you need a script to Disarm for the other weapon firstly. Animation is also needed but no need to creat a magic pow for fishing. One of essential MODs.

or try it as two-handed weapon instead of one - would be simpler, furthermore I suspect that the sheathing could end looking better too, so it would be like catching 2 fishes with 1 stone

I got really close to making this mod compatible with "Complete Alchemy & Cooking Overhaul.esp" but hit a snag so I decided to check the SE version of this mod. Wouldn't you know it someone already created a patch for CACO in the SE version of Fishing in Skyrim. It's quite possible to try adding this patch in the LE load out and see if it works. It does change a script and the quest, so I would only do that on a fresh save, or make a backup of your save files first before adding the patch. I didn't test it in LE, because I already had most of it done in my own setup and just had to copy over the changes from the quest part of the ESP. There are some basic things that need to happen if you want to make your own patch, or just incorporate the changes into the existing ESP in your load order. These directions could be used to add fish from other mods as well.

NOTE: If the download in the link below is still available by the time you read this, just use the script they already compiled because it's exactly the same as the one I made using these instructions. The .esp file in that download is using form 44, but I've been told that doesn't matter in certain cases when trying to use an SE mod under LE (it should be fine here because the patch esp doesn't involve anything other than the script and quest) so you might be totally fine just adding their patch to your load. You probably only want to follow my directions if you want everything included under 1 esp file, or if you want to learn like I did, or make your own patch for other fish mods.

One other Caveat: It's not perfect for me. When I get the message "Something is on the hook" I have to take a step forward before I get the activator prompt. But it mostly works!

    1. update the BBDFishingBaitList per the instructions in my other post below.
    2. Unpack the BSA file in this mod
    3. Use Notepad++ to open the source script bbd_fishingscript.psc
    4. Populate Activator Property list in the script with CACO fish Activators
    5. Populate Ingredient Property list in the script with CACO fish Ingredients
    6. Add CACO fish to FishBaseObjects
    7. Compile the script and add the resulting pex file into your mods folder (In the same folder the BSA file was, the loose file will take precedence)
    8. Add the CACO fish to the BBDFishingQuest within the BBD_SkyrimFishing.esp (you can use TES5Edit to do this, you have to right click the column next to Properties (sorted) and click add to get it started. You have to add all the activators and the ingredients in here, just like the vanilla fish are listed.)

For the script, here is the Activator section:

I was able to use TES5Edit to at least make it so that the new moths and dragonflys from Complete Alchemy & Cooking Overhaul could be added as bait.  In order to do that, I did the following:

*Note: If you are doing this in the middle of a game, make a backup of your save file first, just in case!  It should be OK though, we aren't changing any scripts here*

    1. Add "Complete Alchemy & Cooking Overhaul.esp" as a master of "BBD_SkyrimFishing.esp" and then save it.
    - In order to do this, you need to open TES5Edit, Right Click the list of ESP files, choose Select None (This Unchecks them all) Then just search for 'Complete' (CACO) and check that one, then search for BBD (This mod) and check that one
    - Then you need to right click the BBD_SkyrimFishing.esp on the left pane, and choose Add Masters and select the Complete Alchemy and Cooking Overhaul and click OK
    - Save by clicking the 3 vertical line icon (TES5Edit will offer to create a backup of the old esp by default, there's a check box in the save dialogue for that)

    2. Under BBD_SkyrimFishing.esp click the + FormID List

    3. Left click the "BBDFishingBaitList"

    4. On the right side pane, right click the table colum next to FormID's and click Add

    5. Right click the Null entry and choose Edit

    6. In the text field 'Please change the Value' you will want to copy/paste the FormID of the item from the CACO esp (There are a bunch, I added each one separately. Check the spoiler tag for the list), Click OK

Repeat step 6 until you have added all the bait.

Once you have added them all, click the 3 lines in the upper left corner of TES5Edit and save

I tried adding the fish to the BBDFishingTypesOther, but it looks like there's more to it than that. It seems updating the quest would be needed, and I am not skilled enough to do that.

Here's all the things I added, in the spoiler tag.  I don't know how to create a proper patch but I thought maybe if I shared this here at least we can use the bait.

It appears to be a great mod. I want to give it a try. However, I suggest to add "worms" as bait. Using insects is immersive, quite expensive for an alchemist, though. Worms or any cheap bait could be bought at miscelanous merchants or specialized merchants without breaking immersion.

I really want to give it a try. Can you guys tell me if it is compatible with Complete Alchemy and Cooking Overhaul?

I played a little with CACO (Complete Alchemy and Cooking Overhaul) and Skyrim Fishing, and so far only tested butterfly and dragonfly. The only butterfly I could get to work was "Monarch Butterfly", I'm assuming it shares the same formID as the vanilla non-blue butterfly. Oddly, the "Common Blue Butterfly" did not work and I didn't see any of the other butterfly's and dragonflys from CACO show up in the bait window either. I haven't gotten a chance to try anything else, but I'm hoping CACO didn't change the Bees because if you have Hearthfire + Greenhouse, then bees are plentiful (plus the island with the fisherman on Lake Ilinalta has bees).

It looks like most of the new bugs from CACO won't work with this mod without a patch.
