Hi, this just got ported over to Xbox(you are credited in case you are wondering) and I don’t have the option to turn somebody into my follower while affected by bend will. I can issue the commands but I can’t make them a follower :(
The Xbox version of the mod would've been done for special edition. I'm guessing something changed with how followers are defined in special edition vs. original skyrim that broke the scripting behind the mod. In any case, I can't vouch for the functionality of a version of the mod which I was not involved in creating. I may try porting it over to special edition, but I don't know how that'll go.
So uh, for some reason, this is making Bend Will completely ineffective on NPCs for me... Bend Will works normally without it, and I'm running it last in my load order, so it shouldn't be a mod conflict. Any thoughts?
Really, incredibly late reply, but this was an issue caused by a missing script in the mod folder. I've uploaded a new version that includes the script.
I cant get this to work ,, like I shout at a bandit and before I get to her my followers have already killed her . I don't know why the shout is considered a combat move?
I know this is a really old post, but in case you still care, this issue may have been caused by a missing script in the mod folder. I've uploaded a version that includes the script, in case you care to try it out.
I can't seem to get this mod to work. It's at the bottom of my load order, which shouldn't matter because there aren't any other mods affecting the bend will shout. I repeatedly used the shout against a bandit, but they wouldn't stop attacking me. When I used the console to make them unaggressive, they didn't have any follower dialogue. I then disabled your mod and tried the vanilla bend will shout; it worked as the vanilla shout was supposed to. I then reinstalled your mod and bend will wasn't working again. Any idea how I can get this to work?
Edit: I think I know why your mod isn't working. You didn't include the script (.psc file) in your mod, and so your plugin doesn't have any scripts to refer to. Also, you didn't include the compiled script (.pex file) in your mod either.
Hey man, thanks for pointing this out. I kind of made this mod fire and forget style when I didn't really know what I was doing, so when it worked for me and I never got any bug reports within the first month or so, I kind of forgot about it. In any case, I've uploaded a new version that includes the script. Although it is worth noting that the uncompiled script file is absolutely not necessary to make any mod work, only the compiled one does.
Is there a way to reverse the effects? Say, for example, an unwanted NPC in a required faction wanders infront of you as you shout, is it possible to undo the effect, or would you have to either reload a save or manually add the factions back to the NPC through console?
Yeah I think the same, if you can change their will you can return it to them, the thing is how, adding a power that resets the npc in front of you? that you can talk to them and there is an option to return their will? I don't know how hard it can be but I think is needed
At the moment, the only way to reverse the effects is by reloading a save. I actually have a few ideas about how a feature like that could be implemented by making the shout able to reverse its own effects. If I'm right about how this could be implemented, then it should be a rather quick and simple fix, but since I am still very new to Skyrim modding, there are probably some hidden snags that will make this more complicated then I think it should be. Still, I will definitely look into it.
