No compliment sandwich comments here. ;) This has been my favourite mage player home in Oldrim and even though it has stopped development, i'm happy to report that it still works with Skyrim Special Edition.
Reasons: 1) I love its location in Winterhold. I never understood why people like to create Mage Homes anywhere other than Winterhold.
2) You don't just walk up to it and claim it for free. I like that there is a little lore and challenge.
3) The whole place feels very inter-connected without much loading screens. The only place that needs to load "The Genesis Cavern" is breathtaking!
4) No overly complicated mechanics. Just a very well designed and beautiful home for a Magic-user.
First, permit me to say that I am somewhat familiar with your work. I tried Deus Mons, and loved it! So I got curious about this one. Sadly, I fear I may have found an incompatibility. I use Immersive College of Winterhold and could not for the life of me, find either that broom or that book. I think ICW might have "covered over" the necessary items to find.
This mod has terrible performance lately (after the last update maybe?), it freezes for minutes at a time for no apparent reason, and takes up to fifteen minutes to load properly. I believe that this is the only thing it happens with. Great home, but sadly I have to uninstall. =(
Installed version 1.2 because I don't want the auto-storage. Of all the house mods I've tried, Domus Dementis has the best combination of beauty and functionality. It's big enough to feel like a palace, but not big enough to make walking from room to room feel like a chore.
A small request: now that mods like My Home Is Your Home are available, it would be great if you could add a small dormitory type room so that followers who have moved in can have somewhere to sleep. Preferably in a version without auto-storage.
Please continue supporting Domus Dementis. It's one of the best house mods hosted on this site!
Looks amazing (as do most of your Homes). Just a quick question: I really, REALLY don't want the Auto-Storage. Will you be updating the files that don't use this, or will it become mandatory?
This is my favorite player home mod, IMO. I love the concept, especially. The entrance being a Dwemer lift is just lovely; it makes the home feel like a secret panic-room/bunker deep underground. That's quite creative, as opposed to most homes that display a grand exterior design that matches the interior.
