This is a fantastic mod for Winterhold! I stumbled across a couple of problems. 1: the jarls house is kinda floating 2: none of my followers will leave the Inn unless I fast travel. That's all I have so far. Imo, it's really the way Winterhold should be, even after a great collapse. Please keep up the good work. I would love to see you do the former capital, Dawnstar, next!
OK I am thoroughly confused by the one line instruction for your ETAC compatible file: ‘just replace it with original ETAC file’. I already have the original ETAC file. ETAC 14.3.1 is installed. I assume you mean replace the original ETAC file with this is one you supply not the other way around. Is that correct? So do I install that first (essentially removing Winterhold from ETAC I presume)? MO wants to name this ‘Different Winterhold’. But if I do that then MO will want to merge this with your ‘Different Winterhold 2.6’ when I install that.
OTOH the regular way to install a patch is install the main mod first: in this case ‘Different Winterhold 2.6’ and then install the ETAC file. Is that how it is supposed to work?
Sorry but I need step by step installation help with this mod with ETAC installed.
Also if I could ask is this mod compatible with 'Unique Shops and Stores'?
Update: I've tried merging the patch ETAC esp into the main mod as an optional esp and installing the main mod and the ETAC esp separately. In both cases things are pretty messed up: floating people, torches, building parts ,etc. Another concept I like, but I'll have to pass for now until this is worked on a bit more.
Thanks for your response. I think language is getting in the way of me understanding. What do you mean by ' . . . put ETAC comp. file. when ask to replace click yes.'? That sounds like NMM. I use MO. To rephrase:
Install main mod first. Install the ETAC esp replacement file second.
In MO this second step is accomplished (as I see it) my merging this into the just installed Different Winterhold mod. That leaves this esp in the main mod as an optional esp. Leaving it active will replace the original ETAC esp when your mod is activated (which it does, I have verified the replacement ETAC esp has Different Winterhold as a source).
But . . . this doesn't work in game. There are floating torches left (from the Jarl's hall). And across the street from that in an apparent vacant lot people and parts of buildings floating in space. I would like to use your mod but I won't give up ETAC to do it and this is over my head to fix. Something to ask anyone else is are things working OK using this mod and ETAC with the patch esp replacer? If the answer is yes from a couple of people then maybe I could look more on my end. IOW test confirmation that the patch works.
Yes I will try your mod again if you can make an ETAC patch that cleans everything up. That would be much appreciated. The few errant snow drifts (which I ahven't found yet because of these other conflicts I can clean up with the console using disable if they are not to many. So I can play (perhaps) with that. but not with the current ETAC conflicts :).
Oi, are you planning to keep working on the mod? if not it would be a shame because is one of the very few mods that actually overhauls Winterhold instead of just adding some hay houses and piles of mostly non-sensical rubble around the place, and also one of the few that is fps friendly.
If you're going to work further on it, i found out some issues with the mod, most of them are minor but still kinda visible:
1-The floating snow and ice thingies were caused by the no snow under the roof mod, probably a compatibility patch wolud fix that. 2-There are floating lanterns around the new road, caused by the Lanterns of Skyrim mod. 3-Some areas feel really empty, like the one around the new walls and the interior of the Chapel of Julianos and the College reception, i think it would be cool to add some destroyed buildings here and there, kinda what the creator of the Holds mod tried to do. 4-Found a floating iron ore vein in the little rocky mountain near the walls, some minor mismatches on the windows of the new houses and the door of the College reception
I fixed those windows and iron ore in 2.6 version.I also improved those two interriors. I have uploaded an compatible file for lanterns, but I could not open the Roof Under The Snow,so I will try that in future. Speaking of those ruins,I have uploaded an Winterhold Manor compatible file. That is an mod which puts an pretty big and lore friendly manor somewhere near the walls which could fill that emptiness which you speak of. Let me know if you like it :)

I noticed the Jarl's long house floating & the interior of the chapel being too bright. Looks really cool, though.

It's not on the downloads. Does that mean 2.6 is already compatible with ETAC?
I used to be an adventurer like you
All that's missing are the roadside lights.
