After some experimentation, I've discovered the issue with the menu activating if you're not a lich only occours inside Scourge Barrow itself. But, another issue that could be fixed by changing the activation key.
Several people have commented on the "actual key being used" issue. When you use the default vanilla sneak keyboard key, it works flawlessly, every time. Even overcomes the "spell menu not activating" bug from Undeath itself (suspected that one was tied to the animations). Trouble is, if you don't use the default key, because you use a controller, or like me, you've rebound that key to something you find more convenient, you're completely out of luck.
I'd respectfully request that some means be provided to change the default key in this mod. It makes lichform actually playable, rather then a novelty you use untill the bugs just get too annoying.
Edit: Devised a workaround using some fairly clever autohotkey scripting (like several dozen other Skyrim retardations). Not only does this mod work perfectly, it actually seems to increase the overall stability of lichform. Still ought to get to changing that hotkey for the controller folks and the southpaws, but I'm sold. Color this one endorsed.
I'd really love this mod wasn't it for Skyrim... I only have SSE and it's stupid that mods don't work between Skyrim and Skyrim SE. I hope there might be a version for Skyrim Special Edition since it's kinda annoying,
Could you please make it without Classical Lichdom requirement? I have Undeath for a long time and can't add classical lichdom now, but the form is weak with being vulnerable for few seconds when changing spells.
Classical Lichdom contains vital bugfixes for Undeath, so I don't see the requirement going away any time soon. What would prevent you from installing it currently? I've never tried running without, so I haven't looked into the interactions it would have when you're already a Lich.
Wish it worked for gamepads. Having to keep one hand on the keyboard whenever I'm in lich form is irksome, but... Well, better then not being able to select spells at all after the first transformation, a bug this mod fixed for me.
edit: curious. I was futzing around, removing and readding Undeath plugins to try to make the perks unlockable (No dice, unfortunately), when I noticed I could no longer change spells at all. I removed and reinstalled this mod, and suddenly I can access more spells then I could before, probably due to better compatibility with Classical and such. Still no gamepad, though, heh...

But, Classic Lichdom is an essential mod to keep the whole mess working right. I cannot imagine why it'd be gone.
Yet another reason to download mods manually, and hang onto the files.
