Still really love this mod lol. I was wondering, though, if there was a way to edit it so that A) you get unlimited falls in combat, and B) it doesn't immediately initiate 'game over' when all your followers go down, especially when you don't have followers yet? I ask because I use Ashien's Cursed Rings so I can have multiple followers and still get my fair share of combat, thus they rarely take out all enemies before they go down.
Glad you like this mod and sorry for not answering before, i usually don't look or edit the legendary edition page. Well i don't know, i have continued this mod in the special edition, and don't have the source from the last version from LE, i have edited a lot, remade and changed a lot of the features, because of this i don't remember how this version works anymore, sorry for the inconvenience. So if you want to check out the SE version DVS - Player Essential and Team Death SE
Ahh, well, that's alright. :) I still haven't made the switch, cause I always find mods not available for SSE that would probably have to be remade from scratch, including scripts... Which I know nothing about lol. Hopefully someday though. ^_^ When Skyblivion is a thing, it'll likely be the push I need!
just realized that i answered almost the exact same thing to you before.. sorry. When i switched to SE almost all mods that i consider essential have been ported, like aft, warzones, genesis.( and because i have lost all my load order because a hardware failure ) so to me was easy to switch . but i understand not wanting to change if you love some mods that are not ported, and specially if you load order is stable, this take a lot of time to me to do in the SE version.
Yeah, that's definitely true, and my main setup is stable enough to get hours upon hours without anything game-breaking (usually, if I start over, it's just to the re-experience some stuff). Someday though :)
Hello there! This mod works mostly fine with the settings I run, but I noticed that there wasn't an option for toggling the Instant Death mode. I really want that in my playthrough. Can I ask for any instructions on how to change this? Thanks a lot, endorsing!
Hello, sorry but you can't turn on this option. After i read your question, i searched in the source code to see if i have left this feature working, but i have removed it a long time ago. so it's impossible to activate it. Sorry for the inconvenience. When i have time i will edit the mod page description.
Based on the posts, I don't know if anyone but me uses this, but I discovered something I myself would be very grateful if someone posted it here:
When using this with essential followers, they will get back up when there are no enemies around. But SOMETIMES, the mod won't let them back up at all. I once lost Kaidan for 20 irl minutes, even when a cheaty 'Detect Life' spell showed no enemies for what seemed like miles, and healing him to full health had no effect; his health just plummeted as soon as I stopped healing him. I had to go back to an old save.
I discovered that, when it does this, if you sneak until undetected, eventually, it will force them to rise. It even works when enemies are everywhere, but it's a much better solution than reloading cause your spouse died... Even though s/he didn't.
Thanks for your support, patience, and interest in this mod, its something that makes a developer really happy seeing someone enjoying his work even after so many time, and sorry for not answering you, but i haven't open this page for some time
I cannot give support to the legendary edition anymore, but if you are playing in the special edition i have released some new updates: DVS - Player Essential and Team Death V1.04
This bug is something in the game itself, for some reason, sometimes the game don't remove the Combat state from the player, even if the enemy are miles away, and this makes the mod not trigger the combat end, making the followers not recover, because of this when you sneak the game system calculates your stealth and ends the combat. I have created a timer inside the mod to force the combat ends but i don't remember if in this version works very well.
Thank you for your reply, and it's absolutely no problem! I adore this mod. :)
I haven't actually made the switch to SE (I'm like an old lady, sticking with what she knows LOL), but I HAVE been slowly trying to build a playable SE mod list so I can try to switch one day. :) It's great to know this mod is available for it... In fact, I think it's already in my minimal SE setup, waiting to be tried out. ;) Thank you!
Edit: Now that I think of it, I almost wonder if RDO's stop combat feature would ALSO help followers who won't get up. Thank you for the explanation. :)
I would really love to see some of the bugs fixed. I REALLY want to be able to activate Nerve Wounds and deactivate Vampire mode, but no matter HOW many times I change the settings, Nerve Wounds and Vampire Mode are ALWAYS set to 0 and 1 respectively. Would also be cool to see an MCM, as config spells seem kinda dated... I bet this could be a VERY popular mod if it were fixed.
Also, when using this with Vigor (yes, odd combination, I know), and passive regen is disabled in Vigor, this mod turns regen back on. I like having wounds that require attention or rest (and I turn off regen because with it on, bleeding has virtually no effect), which is why I like both this and Vigor, but I like the added option of not dying with ease as well. I like wounds for immersion, rather than just difficulty, so it would be sweet if I use Vigor for bleeding wounds obtained during combat (and disabling regeneration), and this for the more intense, special wounds when falling in combat, as well as being able to watch my followers instead of immediately dying.
What about followers who are set as essential, either via AFT, or ones that don't use vanilla follower system and are NOT managed by AFT? Lucian Flavius, Kaidan, Atvir Dres, ones like that... Will this mod change their essential status?? If one of them were to die, I'd end up reloading anyway, even if my PC survived...
Edit: It seems to keep their essential status, though I've gotten a good scare a couple times, seeing one of them lying unmoving on the ground... Would love a togglable option for them to not be able to get up until you use healing hands, if this is still being worked on. ;)
Oh, but I DID notice every time I activate special wounds, when it shows the current settings after I confirm the change, special wounds is always still at 0. :(
Just downloaded it, and it worked as advertised...for the first 15 minutes. . In an attack on Druadach Redoubt, I had a team of four. Whenever I got knocked down, it would change the PoV, and I got to watch as my followers went on an epic rampage against 30+ Forsworn (I use increased spawn mods and the Organic Factions), and come out victorious. I even got to get up one time and join said rampage until I got creamed by a Forsworn Briarheart in the chaotic melee...but we won in the end thanks to two of my followers staying on their feet until the last Forsworn fell. . Excited, I went straight to Ragnvald to raid the Nordic Ruin. We went up a few Draugr Overlords and Deathlords along the way, and I noticed that the camera wasn't working as intended. It wasn't shifting to the PoV of my teammates. I figured it's a minor glitch, since you did mention that sometimes something like that'll happen, so I ignored it. I was still getting up a while after combat ended, anyway. . Fast forward to Otar the Mad, and my team gets wiped off the face of Skyrim. Of course, as the frontline I was the first to melt. The camera never shifted to a follower's view. Even after the archer and mage in my team fell, It didn't shift to the rogue. After the rogue fell, I was sitting there staring at the dungeon wall, and Otar was flying about. I had to reload the game. Again, we attacked Otar in another stubborn attempt. Same result. My party is wiped, and the camera never shifts view. It never notified me that I had to reload my game manually or not. I just sat there. . So there. I had to uninstall. But when it worked, IT WORKED. Kinda disappointed how it didn't for me. Great mod though. :)
Your welcome, it is a good mod unfortunately users are more interested in getting off, on follower drones You should consider posting just a tad bit more pics of in game stuff involving the mod, then dont let it get to you, create more stuff auch as this
Has nothing at all to do with Those Players™, homie... It's still a beta and has a ton of issues. Once all the kinks are worked out, more endorsements will come!
[Of course, a lot less people are playing these days anywho, so that hurts the numbers, too :T]
You are right my friend, people are TOTALLY not playing skyrim, in fact. Honestly, I am online everyday, I can tell the sharp drop in internet interactions as well.
What with all of that "March for our lives" ranting, and the Russian hacks and propaganda spread, and stuff such as this, it makes going online a headache if you really don't feel like being bothered with that---Reddit got hit with the propaganda, and tumblr got hit, and tbh, I don't think online users really want to go onto social media sites and be bothered with that bogging them down. Even I'm not wanting to be bothered with all of that Chompy jazz, humans. P_P
I love the idea but i want to be able to die by kill move too can i have this in futur version...? If u are enough good in script u could add some stuff like the npc bow to the player or the other follower when he is dead on the ground.."GAME OVER"
I really like your mod it's somethink i seek for a long time to skyrim lol even oblivion for god sake lol thx you!

It locks my FPS to 15 when installed. Pretty sure the scripts are too heavy, at least in my game.
I don't wanna be That Guy, but it was immediately fixed by deactivating this mod only, so...
If u are enough good in script u could add some stuff like the npc bow to the player or the other follower when he is dead on the ground.."GAME OVER"
