Might have been a corrupt download or conflicting with another mod, I deleted the files in my install & downloaded a fresh copy, it was working for me.
However, in patch 1.62, I had to fix the wrong keywords of orcish and imperial items, so they don't belong anymore to the wrong category on forge menu (don't know if it was intended for a mod I don't use). With TES5Edit, in KWDA section, I applied "WeapMaterialImperial [KYWD:000C5C00]" or "WeapMaterialOrcish [KYWD:0001E71C]" according to the items.
Could you possibly create a patch that replaces Requiems versions with this? I tried to do it myself but I couldn't figure it out (I don't really understand TES5Edit tbh) Requiem's Orcish Crossbow doesn't have its own unique texture so I am utterly confused.
Its tricky patching this, as both mods do the same thing. You could use the standalone Iron & Orcish versions (these are no BSA format) & rename them as a mesh/texture replacer, install the standalone Imperial crossbow & run the Requiem patcher
Requiem's Orcish crossbow doesn't have its own unique texture. So the renaming of the mesh/texture won't work for it. (you'll just get purple crossbows)
I think the defined curvature for the shoulder stock & the engraved symbol near the butt of the stock would be fitting, given the ornamental nature of Ebony weaponry in the Elder Scroll universe. Maybe this would give you some idea - and thank you for this mod.
Yeah that's the direction I want to go, something that really stands out. I've also got to incorporate all the Art that's associated with the Ebony set

Is it safe to update this mod during playthrough?
I found that bolts from this mod would barely appear to embed themselves on a surface just like the original vanilla Dawnguard bolts do.
Aside from that, thanks a lot for creating this mod, your crossbows are the only crossbows other than vanilla, that I have liked.
Pd: very good mod ;D
Yes, planning on getting Substance painter for future designs
