First, let me say thank you for this mod! I was looking for something exactly like this to make my mage characters less brittle in combat, without overpowering them. The only problem I've found is that it's difficult to tell sometimes, when in first person, if the shield is active or not, especially in the heat of battle. There's already a sound effect for when the shield breaks, I'd suggest adding a different sound effect for when the shield is activated. (The lesser power version of the spell doesn't seem to have one.) Also, the blue visual effect is somewhat hard to see, is there any way to make it more opaque or change the color to something more noticeable?

Thanks again for this fabulous mod!

I just love this mod, thank you for putting time into it!

I wanna ask something, can this shield also be like a barrier? I mean, when you have your shield toggled on,then melee opponents can't come close to you, can't enter inside the shield and come close to you until it is destroyed or toggled off. For example, a bandit can still "hit" you but from a little distance, like 3-4 meters to simulate that they can't enter the shield, it would make it more realistically.

Also spells, it would be nice if the spells wouldn't hit you, but hit the shield itself. For example,a fireball would not get through your shield and hit you, but it would stop like 3-4 meters from you, kinda like an invisible wall..and when the shield is off, then it can hit you. I don't know if you know what I mean.

Don't get me wrong, I love this mod, I am just suggesting.

Thks for you suggest, but sadly It's just impossible with mechanism of this mod: The damage hit u is directed into Magicka, then if u are't hit, so how to calculate incoming damage.

I really love this mod, so I am using it because I am choosing only magicka every time whenever my character level up. It really works well. but I have a question (or favor). The cost is 5 Magicka/s when I am turning on the mana shield according to your description. Can you reduce the cost to 2 Magicka/s or none for optional? I wanna offset against the mana shield's magicka cost by Enchanted clothes including regenerating magicka. Although the regenerating rate is 1000%, it is too slow to regenerate. The speed of regenerating magicka is too different between the mana shield on and off. The regeneration enchant looks work (because the higher regeneration percentage, the faster magicka regenerates) but the rate of regeneration seems to be changed when I am turning on the mana shield. I tried to change the value of magicka cost first, but I have no idea what am I supposed to change.

Oh I got it. When I erase this "PlayerRef.DamageAV("Magicka", 5 )" statement in script, my magicka regenerates normally. I tried reduce speed of regenerating normal, but not too slow like current mod. even though I set 1 or 0.01 from 5, the regeneration speed is drastically decreased. I changed the speed in combat, instead. Thank you HydroBirous!

In combat the mana regeneration speed is reduce to 33% compared to normal. I'm playing as Mage and using mod Path of Soccery ( kind of Editing perk mod ), having about 400 Mana and I don't feel mana-thirsty though the shield is always on. You should use a Perk Mod cuz I think that Wizard in skyrim quite weak at early due to the unappropriate perks.

i don´t know if it was ever asked before, but is it possible to make some more colours of this Shield-Effekt? Blue looks nice, but for Vampires, Illusionists, Conjuration-Masters its to "friendly" ^^

Maybe you can make this effekt more flashy? like some kind of instability

when i turn off the the mana shield i just die lol edit: basicly if you are not full HP because of a scripted hp reduction, when you turn it off you die... insted of giving 20k hp to the player isnt it better to just make the player invincible or something?

The TakenDamage is calculated by subtracting the Health before and after you take a hit while Invincible resists all incoming damage.
You die when turning off the spell cauz of the wrong damage calculation, I tried my best to reduce that wrong, but against concentration spell it is not perfect.
For example: A Flame spell on you for 10s will cause about 5 HP wrong. However, under attacking off 4 enemy who use sword, file ball, bow and any s*** in more than 10 MINUTES is still perfect with very minor wrong damage.
And one more thing, maybe it's not so important: some s*** source damages in Skyrim do not trigger the script of my spell. One thing I knew is the poisonous lake in the Black Book's World (DLC Dragonborn), it doesn't trigger my script.

Wasn't skse released for SSE? I'm even using it myself , is there a difference between the one available and the one needed?

I heard that SKSE64 for SE is just an alpha. I even don't have SSE so i can't test it. But who know, maybe a small spell mod which content very few and simple script may work on SKSE64. Let me know if it worked.

Man, i've tested it quite a while ago but i forgot to reply you. The mod itself is working perfectly on SSE. However, there seems to be a texture bug. Some parts of the shield are green, like a texture wasn't loaded or there were errors. I can try to give you a better report on it if you want, but can't guarantee when due to college reasons. I'm not even playing anything right now,

    EXCELLENT SPELL MOD.

I do suggest you script it like a ward with 360% coverage instead tho.
Using the cast-and forget mechanic from mage-armour spells so it only lasts a certain duration would also be decent.

      1. It does have 360-degree coverage.
      2. It is a cast-and-forget spell, not a channel. It drains Magicka while active, so it will only last as long as you have Magicka or until you cast it again to turn it off.

Look like Mana Draining 2 Mp/s is not enough costly so I will make it 10 Mp/s on next update hehe

Don't think you know what he meant by 360 ward coverage. He meant code it to act just like the ward spell but with full coverage as to bypass the need of a advanced health and damage reading script that this mod will use instead.
