Hi. Argor nash of the Beyond Skyrim team here. I'm the modeler of the iron armor.
Love the mod! Honestly I totally like the armor being practical this way - you did a great job with the transition! I thought of doing it this way originally (it would have saved a lot of time too) but, when I started, the concept artist's design for the female armor just looked too cool to resist making, and it ultimately won me over, so decided since it was a fantasy armor some realism could be suspended. :p
I hope you don't mind that I'm only here for the comments. I find the entire boob armour argument to be mostly stupid.
Where's my stance? I came from a part of the world where we fought naked (it's too hot & too humid to wear armour, you see, armour is also useless against guns).
What I like about your work? You shaped the cuirass beautifully, a line where glamour & practicality actually met. The original 1 makes the girls look fat. Yours look athletic, I like it.
On the "great" debate: I have no problem with boob armour since it's for glamour, the excuses of the boob rack catching sword blows are stupid beyond compare. Real protection of the cuirass exists no matter what, the boob is just for show. I believe European knights & Roman legionnaire knows about interlocking layers (the European knights wore at least 2-3 layers of armour if I am not mistaken), go nuts with the glamour, it's meant to show off & intimidate anyway.
But I get it, westerners live in cold regions, skimpy armour is stupid to you. Your hottest days are like 15 Celsius.
What do I actually want? A fast-paced combat style to justify the skimpy armour. Something seriously lacking in video games.
Cringey, I actually didn't like the boob armour in vanilla Skyrim but this meme about shaped plates 'directing swords' here or there is laughable and so widespread it's shocking. Strikes with swords and other weapons carry a pretty small amount of momentum and plates are designed to resist penetration. A boob armour is inherently less useful than a properly curved one...but then so are the ugly flat plates in Skyrim and flatter plates that rest on the body on some harnesses for the arms and legs. The boobplate would be more dangerous to the wearer if they were in a boxing ring or a wrestling match than getting struck with swords and arrows.
Fantasy armour is garbage for both males and females, it's rarely functional and how protective it is varies greatly. I'm not criticizing you uploader, just a random rant vaguely related to your mod.
Minor technical correction: Plate armors main purpose is to deflect the energy of the blow rather than resist penetration. That is why real world plate armor is rather thin but also typically very curved. Because as you rightly point out: A flat plate is completely useless too, because plate armor is so thin it'll just be punched right through with pretty much any weapon.
(I know you probably knew that, but those who read your post might have misunderstood it)
LOL Quite the opposite here! Actually, I want all the Bruma armor to shape shift to curvier, more pleasing to the eye, battle garments. But, while I do not like this, I am sure somebody else will. So, good job! You have some skill there.
The new armour doesn't cave inwards so any of professor Skallagrim 's pommels (especially if they're Billyro's Pommel Arrows) can't end you rightly, especially if they're fired from professor Shadiversity's machicolations.
They are all my favorite youtubers, damn didn't expect that here.. I guess a fair ammount of people playing Skyrim in 2018 are interested in history though ;) You have good tastes!

Glad there's a mod for it though - awesome.

Anyways, take care y'all.

Now if someone would just sort out the spoonwings on the dragons, I'd be in Sovngard.
