I love how plug in and play this simple mod is. It works great, and as an added bonus: you don't have to go crazy installing patches upon patches and fixes upon fixes for Chesko's lantern mod (though it 'is' a great mod).
edit: Travelling companions will actually auto-equip and auto-unequip the lantern on their own depending on if it's dark or not! I had serious trouble getting Chesko's mod to do this (never succeeded), but I just gave an extra lantern to Inigo and 'boom'.
For anyone still looking for how to use the lantern, simply find any old junk lantern laying around in a cave, pick it up (listed in the miscellaneous menu), then drop it, and then pick it up again. Look in your inventory, and it should have the candles and fire effect. Equip it like any other weapon or piece of armor, and there you go, when you back out you should be holding it. At least that's how I got it to work. Awesome mod by the way! Simple, but a very nice touch to have in the game.
I adore this mod. To me, it's simpler and more efficient than Wieldable Lanterns. However, in my opinion a lantern retexture like http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/3595/? is required, because you see more of the lanterns.
Great mod. I'm also using "light up the Night". Npcs use torches at night but using lanterns makes more sense. Would this mod switch the npc to using lanterns too.
Could you please upload your old version again? The new one is not working for me, the guards wear torches on back and I still can't set them upright ether. Thank you still a great mod though.
