    New update (March 4 2020):

    - There is now only one main file. Now you can use any mask with any colour variant of the dragon priest armour through the change outfit menu.

    - A compatibility patch for Sacrosanct is available under Update Files. Now when you have the "Dragon at Midnight" perk in Sacrosanct, you will still be able to use the armours from this mod, and even have an option for the royal vampire lord armour in the change outfit menu. THIS PATCH REQUIRES THE MOST RECENT VERSION OF THIS MOD.

    UPDATE (March 7 2020):

I uploaded a new file to fix mist form with the dragon priest armour. Without this file, your armour will not become completely invisible during mist form, seemingly due to the dragon priest textures not being set up properly for this animation. I don't think there will be any major disadvantages to using this fix, but you should be able to uninstall it at any time if you find out that you don't like it for some reason anyway. Please let me know here if you notice any problems when using this fix though - if I don't get any reports I will probably eventually just incorporate this into the main file.

Also - I haven't tested it, but I think this file will probably fix the same problem for any other mods where your armour/character doesn't become fully transparent during mist form, independently from my other mod files.

From skimming the description it looks like it would probably be compatible, but I've never tested it.

1 Will this armor work for grimoa's vampire lord? I like it's wings, but dragon priest armor looks so cool.
2 I think biting through the mask is a bit problematic.??

You wouldn't be able to use the wings from that mod with this one, because the original vampire lord model doesn't include the wings. The wings have to be part of the armour model.

For the biting thing, you can see on the description page I put a screenshot showing that technically the mask moves up a bit during the bite animation, so you could argue that it wouldn't fully be in the way; I know it's not ideal though. Otherwise you can just not use the mask - if you're using one of the main files you will always have the option to not use a mask.

Just saw this comment again - for anyone who has the same question, I uploaded a compatibility patch yesterday that will let you use those wings with this mod.

could you buy any chance just make the regular dragon priest armour usable as a normal armour? or make a ring that allows you to transform into a dragon priest??

that would be so awesome....no ones done it for SSE

please make this for XBOX if u ever do

its a bit of a stretch but have a look at "undeath" if you have not already, that gives you the ability to turn into a dragon priest, with some added perks.

Don't take this as me making fun of the armor, because it looks absolutely amazing! But it does sort of resemble Goldar of Power Rangers. lol. Ok so only upon a swift glance, when I zoomed in it's not all that close. I'm actually thinking of delving into creating some armor/clothing. I'm a bit sad that there aren't more CBBE conversions than I've found. If you had any advice for anyone who's never messed with meshes or textures or making clothing/armor/mods what would it be?

For editing the meshes, if you have access to it (e.g. you can get it for free as a student) I would recommend using something like 3ds Max instead of blender. It will make importing and exporting a lot simpler and easier. Other than that you probably would need to follow some tutorials to at least have a basic idea of what you're doing. If you have a specific question about how to do something later you can ask me and I *might* know the answer, but I wouldn't consider myself an expert or anything, so I might not know either (or I might just not be checking the Nexus as frequently by then).

If Miraak wasn't showing up in the menu for anyone before, the newest version should fix that. I also uploaded an optional file that adds the original enchantment from each mask onto the vampire lord version.

NOTE: For the few people who downloaded the wrong version that I had up for about a day, you might need to uninstall the mod and make a save before updating if it doesn't work for you. Everything should work normally after that; you will just need to regain the change outfit power either by killing another dragon priest or by using player.addspell in the console.

How good are you with meshes? you seem to have done an alright job at making the DP armor fit, would you be interested at all in making other armor for them like say a trenchcoat similar to the one in that "The Hermit" mod? What about Miraak's robes or the robes from the mod Konahrik's Accoutments? maybe some fine clothes or something that would make the VL seem more civilized and less monstrous, maybe like the archmage robes with the hood would be cool as well.

I doubt I'll make another armour like this again, or at least not any time soon. I agree that it would be nice to have a bunch of different sets to choose from, but it takes way too long for it to be worth it to me. Someone more experienced with this could probably have done it faster than me (this is the most advanced 3D thing I've ever done), but it took a lot longer than you probably expect just to make these meshes. Sorry but it would require way too much time.

Well if you do update this then would you be willing to add the Royal Armor as well to the options menu? you know the armor Harkon wears so the player has the option of choosing between Regular, Royal or Dragon, maybe they would need to have defeated him to wear it or maybe if they have some Vampire Royal Armour in their inventory.

I was originally thinking of doing that, where you would have had to have finished the main Dawnguard quest to select it. When I tried it in game the male version looked bad because of the cloak, though. I ended up deciding to just not put it in since it would be kind of outside the scope of the mod, and there are already other mods that do it better. If you (or anyone else) want to make your own patch that adds that button to my menu, that's fine with me. I've already spent too much time making what there is now; I don't really feel like doing more any time soon.

Like I told you, I can't do it myself but someone else can if they want to. There is already a PC special edition version here https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/14027 if that's what you mean though.

Sam04956 The mod has been ported to Bethesda.net, for Skyrim SE on Xbox One. You were properly credited, and a link was provided back to the original nexus page. The mod can be found here: https://bethesda.net/en/mods/skyrim/mod-detail/4047399 .I thought you might want to know, incase you want to update the Description to include a link to the Xbox One version on Bethesda.net.

I want to try SSE soon so maybe. After I make the armour obtainable in game properly I will try making an SSE version. I don't know exactly how to do it but I think I just need to open and re-save the file in the SSE creation kit so hopefully it should be easy.

I got it working on the SSE, I do have a few questions though..

    1. Could you remove the pieces of cloth near the face on the maskless version? that doesnt really make sense why they would be there and it looks wierd

    2. Would this work with Dragon Priest armor retextures?

    3. Why not have it so if your wearing a Dragon Priest mask it runs a script to give you this armor so it doesnt conflict with the quest entry?

1: EDIT: I uploaded a new version without the cloth.

2: It uses the same texture as the dragon priests, so yeah any retexture of them should work.

3: I'm going to try to make a "change outfit" power that opens a menu and lets you select which model you want to use if you have that mask in your inventory. I think this should stop it from conflicting with anything too. I have only done basic things with the creation kit before, but I assume it's possible to do this by having one separate script that changes the armor property in the DLC1PlayerVampireQuest script. I don't know how long it will take for that to be finished, but hopefully soon.

So I tried to do it in a way that doesn't conflict with the quest entry, but it seems to reset the properties every time you try to transform. Basically, it didn't work for me and I couldn't think of any other way of doing it than editing its script to use the armour that the mod tells it to use. I uploaded replacer versions that just overwrite the original models like you asked in the other comment though, so you can use that instead if you're worried about compatibility. I also said in the description that I don't mind people making their own compatibility patches for other mods, I'm just probably not going to bother with it myself since I only really use Better Vampires and that one seems like it shouldn't have any conflicts with this.
