Everyone who thinks this is a great idea... Shut up right now. Because you're overlooking the mods that are already in the process of being made. Skywind and Skyblivion. Those two are the only ones that are making any progress. And I'm sure some of you remember Morroblivion. It's made by the same people. So... Skublivyun.
1: Don't be a douche, there is never a reason to be rude. 2: You are overlooking the same mods obviously, skyblivion and skywind aim to bring the original games to skyrim, not expand the world to TES1:arena style glory. 3: Make sure you know what you are talking about before you aim to make people feel dumb, or just don't rude and keep your fingers away from the keyboard. 4: This is a good idea, I guess you never played the other elder scrolls games? Of course you haven't you obviously don't even remember the morroblivion you mentioned.
I am actually looking more forward to Beyond Skyrim their team is huge and is including all the provinces during Skyrim's time and age. Adding thousands of quests and nearly a million NPCs. check em out!
I guess you just nipped in to troll. After all, I see you have no mods uploaded here but curse other's efforts... Oh, you hero you! It's easy to dis others when you have nothing to offer, come back when you've done some work yourself.
...and you replied to a 2014 comment, which was rude but not incorrect... punching down while at it. Someone posting mods doesn't give them a more valid opinion one way or another. Heck, some of the most talented modders are assholes and drama-llamas!
The Skyblivion/Skywind teams are both huge AND talented, and haven't finished either project yet, so again while rude, this mod died during conception. It's a no-brainer.
hopefully now with beyond skyrim releasing Bruma on the first of july of this year the part that did Bruma will help the others and we may see more and more locations sooner!
To anyone who thought this mod is a good idea i have great new for you, I'm par tof a group working to bring Tes Arena back to life and i'm working on something very similar to this, if you have modding experience you can join the group https://discord.gg/q2kRdf7
For anyone hoping this mod is still going to be updated, I'm sorry to break the news that there's around 99% chance it won't. It hasn't been updated since 2012, and the author hasn't been around since 2 June 2015. While I don't like being negative, it was pretty much impossible for this project to ever be completed due to it being way too ambitious and only one (?) person working on it.
Good news is that the people over at Dark Creations are working on a mod called Beyond Skyrim, which has the same goal as this mod but is actually actively being worked on. Check their forums for daily progress. They'll maybe even release Bruma as a taste of what the mod is this year. And unlike this mod, that Bruma is going to be completed. They're always looking for help, so feel free to take a look.
The creator basically aimed to do what an entire team of highly skilled creators (Bethesda) did in a year, by himself multiplied by 9 (9 more provinces), despite his incompetence. He failed. Drastically. Like, wow. Like, he literally added one city very poorly and gave up.
Does anybody think the creator would mind if I...messed around with this and maybe released more complete versions over time? I mean, I would give credit where due, but I'd like to see how far I could get with it.
