This is the newest release of TCOSS, and comes with it a new module - Weapons of War.
This module adds 300+ models (armors, weapons, bows, arrows) to all the NPCs in the Imperial and Stormcloak Army. It also distributes the weapons along the NPC leveled lists so you can find them in the world. It does other things as well, such as add armors to horses, diversify Army ranks, and so on.
This is still technically a test version, so constructive criticism and bug fix suggestions are highly appreciated.
This mod has been about 5 years in the making so hopefully you guys can enjoy it.
Also, I'm not particularly good at taking pictures, so feel free to take pictures from your setups of the mods. I don't have ENB or anything, so any nice pictures would be super appreciated!
I got this mod working and ported for Skyrim SE using Cathedral Assets Optimizer to get the textures and working. If anyone knows the authors and how to get in touch, I'd like to give them the updated files for SSE or just upload the updated mod myself with the author's permission.
Years ago, I played the Oldrim almost the entire game with the Atmorian Crown, a cool looking viking one-handed sword included in this mod. It fitted perfectly, lore-wise. So, I would like to play with it again on Special Edition.
I know it's frowned upon to do it without explicit permission, but it doesn't seem that you will get an answer anytime soon. Please let me know, when/if you have the time.
I can't upload it or share it without the original author's permissions. However, i can tell you how I ported it. Also, this isn't the latest version of the mod; as far as I know, it's this one: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/103289
Step 1, download and use the Cathedral Assets optimizer to unpack the mod's BSA files and re-pack them. It should be able to do this all in one go without you having to do anything. This will fix the problem the original authors had with the textures and meshes failing to port over. Step 2, change the TCOSS.esm into an esp by opening it in the SSEEdit and turning off the flag for ESM. Then save it, and change the file extension to '.esp'. Step 3, open TCOSS.esp and all other ESP files individually in the Creation Kit with the Skyrim.esm file selected as the master, then save them, skip the warnings (it's all normal warnings, nothing much to do with the mod). Step 4, change TCOSS.esp back to TCOSS.esm and open it in SSEEdit as well to restore it's ESM flag.
I like the idea of distributing the weapons across the soldiers for both imperial and stormcloaks, while also making a new ranking system, however......i am a little tired of the way the imperial armor looks, as of right now im trying to replace the armors with the Heavy Legion one by Daniel UA.....so far its not going good.
any chance that this could be ported to the Special Edition? this is a must have mod for me but i tried to port it myself and got alot of crashes even after optmizing the nifs, tried in all versions of the chronicles of steel :/
If I just install the swords with out the "weapons of war" will they be added to the levelled lists? I already have many overhauls touching Imerpaisl/Stormclaosk., I love this pack from Oldrim.
Years ago this used to be my favorite mod back when the first imperial swords were released for testing, then i stoped playing Skyrim and started again a few days ago, i had forgot this mod's name and searched for days on the nexus until i finally found it again and the old page led me here, i'm so glad this still was worked on all this time, can't wait to play with all the new goodies, thanks for your amazing work :D
edit: Any chance for a SSE version any time soon? it would be amazing!
Hello, I'm in love with your mod, it made me finally finish the Civil War siding with Legion :D but there are some things i want to share with you: - I wish there were a posibility to upgrade armors and weapons you've made, those are really great, but wandering around in armor with stats same as basic iron armor hurts - the blue variant of legion's armor makes arms of mine character sooo skinny, i suppose it simply uses the lowest of "muscles" on character - weapons seems to be a bit OP, i mean it's understable that higher rank = better stuff, but it gets really ridiculous when it's better than all the weapons you find on enemies Hope that will help you in a future, thanks for your great work :)
Maybe the problem is, that ppl like me dosnt rly like idea that every sword is in three versions. I have plenty weapons mod and would be happy add that one, but 1 sword - 3 version, especially in case where there is 3 hundred of them, make me afraid that most of npc would have this swords. If this only was just +swords to leveled list that would be most awesome case.

This mod adds Nord AND imperial weapons standalone?
I dont need any other mod apart from this one?
Looks amazing!
