I've uploaded a 1.0 to 1.01 hotfix to fix the eye shine bug (thanks jimmywon34!) but it's manual install only. First install 1.0, then the hotfix. Please read the install instructions first.
For anyone who'd rather not manually hotfix, I've uploaded a 1.01 full installer as well.
Hello all, I've been intrigued by Aleria and tried to use her yesterday, but I found that I cannot change her default armor. I tried light and heavy, all smithed to legendary level, but no luck (the armors simply overlapped what she is already wearing, which just looks wonky).
I have emailed the mod author, but as this hasn't been updated in three years, I'm not entirely optimistic that I'll get a reply. Any suggestions as to how to apply my own armor sets to her? Thanks for your time.
to be honest I don't remember at all how I configured her but I can give some general advice:
first, have you tried just stealing all her clothes out of her inventory and only give her the outfit you want? second, if you use EFF or another follower controller mod look and see if that has a better system third, there's always the trusty ol' console. Add the items you want her to wear to her inventory, then open the console, click on her, and do this: unequipall (to remove everything she has) showinventory (to show what she has available to equip) equipitem xxxxxxxx where xxxxxxxx is the item ID for the clothing you want her to have. You get those IDs from the showinventory command.
hopefully one of those will work. I do know I got her to wear custom outfits with some combination of the above so it's possible! :)
Huh, that's funny, "Aleria" is a part of my rather small list of character names that i've come up with, but do you mind if I use the last name? I'm an RPer and i'm not so good at coming up with names, neither first nor last
Sure, I've got no problems if you use the name. :)
I've also had trouble coming up with names, so I understand. This might help you like it helped me - UESP has extensive lists of lore names. I used that to come up with Ivywing. One of the family name possibilities in Arena/Daggerfall was Ivywind and I just changed it to wing instead. http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Bosmer_Names
They have pages for every named NPC in every Elder Scrolls game. Great resource.
Aleria came about by searching for a character from a book (second tip: read books) whose name I spelled wrong in my search, and so the wikipedia page for Aleria came up. It's a commune on Corsica. Its name in ancient Greek - you guessed it - Alalie. So when she changed her name, it wasn't much of a change! That was a lucky wikipedia find. So that's my third tip: If you find a name you like, look up translations.
I'm not normally a fan of vanilla-voiced female follower mods... but that is an amazingly written, and well thought out backstory (one of the best I have seen). I hope that one day you consider fleshing her out with a custom voice and unique dialogue that incorporates her history.
what eye mod are her eyes from? there any way to quickly change her eyes? they have so much reflection that it looks like a glass eye or almost completely white when near a fire or light source in my game. don't have that problem with other npcs.

Good luck!
