Hey guys, I was wondering, is it similar to this mod made recently, Project Book? https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/87100/? Looks pretty much the same )
I guess so. It wasn't intentional we just thought this would be a good idea. Either ways it doesn't seem like much people have taken an interest to either mod.
I love this idea! I've enjoyed reading/listening to the fan fiction on YouTube, I have worked on a New World's mod now for 3 years, although I don't plan to release it ( I lost track of all the assets I used, so permission would be a problem) I did however enjoy writing lore/books that go with the mod, the mod needed books for several reasons other than just a backstory to events etc, research has to be done to find certain areas, separate myth from legend. fact from fiction, and to unlock the secrets of Black Alchemy. I kind of abandoned writing most of the lore, due to the mod never being released, but kept all my notes, and would love to share my writings

hm.. is there a way to add any type of book via some external text file that the mod can read? one friend of mine would totally want to read his own books in skyrim, but not really fanfiction
No, unfortunately not. If you want a book to be implemented into this mod, be it fan fiction or not, the mod creator would have to put in each book separately then add them to the bookshelf.
well, the thing is that he really liked reading actual books through the game's system (well, mod?) in oblivion. so that makes me wonder if that'll manage to be a thing in skyrim.. i have no clue about oblivion mods and how they worked
You see where as Oblivion's system was a little more complex then Skyrim's CK in both Skyrim and Oblivion there was no program to automatically convert something into a book in game, you would have to go into the CK and mod every book in separately. However we can accept books so long as they're not from any other author in hopes that we don't get into a copyright issue. As such they have to be written by the person themselve.
Hello everyone, AU here. As we go along with the development of the mod we will be attempting to bring in custom assets to make the library look better. This may include custom floors and roof meshes/textures, custom bookshelf meshes/textures, and possibly even custom book covers for the mod. Update 3/12/2018: Hey everyone I'm here, you may be asking if this mod is dead or not, well it's not but we don't really receive a lot of submissions for books, so we're kind of stuck at that spot right now. However hopefully you will be seeing an update to this mod sometime in the near future.
