However, it seems that the casting animations for the Master-level spells are incorrectly assigned. This means that the right hand does nothing whilst the left hand casts the spell, whereas Master spells typically use the "ritual"-style casting animation (justified by their power).

Unfortunately I don't own the Special Edition (and I'm still working on the mod, very slowly), but if you're aware of the procedure to port it or know someone else who is willing to do so, I'd happily upload that version here for others to use.
the mod is just an .esp. that means all you have to do to port it to Special Edition is open the .esp with creation kit for Special Edition and save. that's it.
What part of "I don't own the Special Edition" did you not understand? :>
Even if I somehow got the creation kit for SE (which you can only get afaik if you own the game), I don't have the actual files from SE for the construction kit to load. If it's that easy, just place it into the SE creation kit and then hand it over to me in a pm and I'll upload it here for everyone to use.
Really love the idea of more light spells, they seem to be such a rarity. As for the shadow spells, in the future, instead of them scaling on poison, perhaps you can use Shadow Spell Package (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/13299) as a base that way they can scale off actual shadow damage and the perks provided by the mod!

I loved the light spells, they work well, they do a good deal of damage ... but it lowers the cost of them as well as the dark, the fact that the light spell does extra damage to the undead and the dark one hardly does any damage I found OK also since both are opposites, but for some reason the dark spells just don't seem to do me any harm ... alright it doesn't do much in the undead, but in necromancers, bad guys, npcs the damage is the same, almost nothing ... I liked the dark spells, but I believe the damage needs to be fixed ... for now I have only increased the damage in my game.
I just find out this mod but i can also relate to your issue. I'm also playing a mod that *has some spells with very low damage/magnitude multipliers but Amazing graphics and effects. I suggest you to try out Chaining and Charging Spell mod, it's just an overhaul but for me it's sooo satisfying ( also i'm playing a RedMage/BattleMage so i can't say about any All-In-Magic Orientated Class).
I was balancing them similarly to destruction spells, but with added effects and increased mana costs to compensate.
Goes without saying, but anything immune to poison won't be affected by the majority of dark spells. I don't recall any of the spells being noticeably weaker or stronger than their destruction counterparts, especially considering that the dark spells absorb health and deal damage to stamina and magicka, but perhaps when I have more free time, I'll look into balancing the spell values and mana costs a bit better.
If you have an issue with the way magic is balanced in Skyrim in general, you could also try getting a magic overhaul mod which is compatible with this mod.
Sorry if I sound direct but I really need to ask you this question . I am roleplaying as a Dark/light lord of humanity ( inspired by Dark Souls ) and I really need dark spells with pitch black visual effect or light spells with white visual effects . Can you add an optional file that makes the magical visual effects of the dark spells fully black without any purple colors and makes the magical visual effects of the light spells less blue or yellow ? ( if you have the time of course ) I am looking forward for your reply .
Unfortunately that involves modifying the actual graphical files, which I have little knowledge on. I might give something like that a try in the distant future when I have a lot of free time, but don't hold your breath. >v>;
Why not try this with the Shadow Spells Package mod in addition to this one? I use them both together and it works out really well for my Chaos Tiefling
