Unfortunately, real life has intervened, and neither Dwarven: Special Edition nor 1.0.1 of Dwarven: Legendary Edition will be posted this weekend. They will be up as soon as they are available.
Wow man i really happy to finally see your work released, great looking textures, really top notch work. I actually feel a little strange because i'm using the tools of kagrenac mod and now keening looks extremely beautiful in comparison to the other 2 relics, but oh well nevermind. Btw are you going to include that dwarven crossbow on the SSE version?
i know youre probably still busy with more important things but are you still planning on updating this mod with new sword replacers as well as an SSE port
I've been watching the topic when you where working on it and i'm glad you released them. So thanks for your hard work and effort, looking forward to what you have in store for us again.
im sorry but im trying to find this mod in SSE nexus but its not under models and textures did you place it in weapons? or some other category? are you sure it was actually ported to SSE? did you forget to click that "upload" button?
The SSE version has not yet been released, and will not be released until next week. I just checked the main page and discovered that I had worded the information on the SSE version made it seem as though it were already out. I apologize. This has now been corrected.
Not rusted per se, but corroded nonetheless. If you go back and look at Dwemer items from The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, they looked very different from their Skyrim counterparts (and not just in terms of their design). The mod as it is now is a mesh and texture replacer for the Dwarven dagger, Keening and Volendrung, giving them a look closer to what they had in Morrowind (Volendrung for example had the same design for the first 4 games in the series, and they that design was chucked out the windows in Skyrim). I did other weapons for the project as well, but you would need a plugin in order to use them, and I have no intention of reinstalling the Oldrim CK in order to compile one. Those who want more will need to wait for the SSE version of Dwarven next week.
I've updated the description on the main page, to hopefully be clearer.
except it was in morrowind that it was established that dwemer weapons DONT corrode like normal weapons, the blade edges of dwemer weapons in morrowind were clean af.
Bethesda's visuals have often been at odds with their descriptions (this was particularly true in Morrowind). It is true that the blades of Dwarven weapons in Morrowind are untarnished, particularly when compared with the rest of the weapon. However, looking at the textures for said weapons you will notice one thing: the colour of the metal differs between the blade and the rest of the weapon, suggesting that two two materials are different.
Dwemer items have appeared different in every major game: Morrowind had more of a bright, acidic colour with a hint of green patina, with a blade made from a metal that resembled silver, as it had been done on other Morrowind items. Oblivion introduced a dark, heavy patina which I used as inspiration for the colour scheme in my weapons, while trying to square the roughness of the texture against the Dwemer towers of Vvardenfel, and Dwemer Colossi in Bamz-Amschend. Skyrim shifted the primary colour to more of a dark bronze and mostly did away with the patina, though they did lighten the metal wherever it appears to be heavily worn. Online darkened the metal even further, and did away with all metal wear.
Since this is my take on all of this (and since the texture were made more than a year ago), all discussion on this is irrelevant. As people seemed to still be interested in this project, and as I don't intend to continue working on these assets, I decided to release them to the public. This is my personal interpretation of the Dwemer. If you don'tr like it, you don't have to download it.
no need to go on the defensive, i was merely pointing out that while you're claiming to take inspiration from morrowind, its the game that most conflicts with your interpretation. It wasn't a knock at your work, you're welcome to reinterpret the lore to your own fancy as much as you like, it was merely discussion for discussions sake.
Sorry. Some passionately defend the the lore as written and are utterly inflexible, some the visual, others merely wish to discuss. I've seen enough of both over the years that I've become more than a little wary of anyone bringing it into the conversation. Also, I suppose I'm a little too close to the project. After spending so many years on this project I suppose that I've become the inflexible one.
