Thank you to everyone who voted for this to be file of the month October 2017 and thank you to everyone who has endorsed this mod, your comments have really made me laugh.
It looks like microtransactions in single player games might be here to stay but at least we can have a laugh about it.
I honestly wouldn't still be playing Skyrim without mods and I really am enormously grateful to ALL the fantastic people who make them.
Yea, nexus has been vomiting out generic, boring and overall crappy followers for the past few months, i even find this more creative then most of that garbage atm. and they even keep reaching hotfiles, further proving skyrim mods may actually be dying.
It's sad, because where do Skyrim modders have to go? Fallout 4 was worse than garbage, and I feel sorry for anyone who moves there. Guess it's about time to hang up on Bethesda games, since they're only getting worse.
The follower situation is pretty horrible.I immediately block any mod author who gets a bimbo onto the hot files so my hot files page has rose- colored glasses and features actual mods. (At least I don't have to look at the constant barrage of boobs and butts.)I wish they would just make a special section and hot files page for those guys and make it so you can look at it or block the whole thing if you want to. I'm not a prude but it got old a long time ago.
You do realize that it's not the modder who gets the mod in 'Hot Files' but rather the members who endorse the mod. You might as well black list all members who endorse these follower mods you speak of as well.
Yes. I do realize that endorsements get them there. I think you misunderstand my motive. I am not on a pointless crusade or vendetta. Blacklisting the mod author gets them out of MY face now and for all future booty babes they post. And it doesn't hurt them, it doesn't hurt you or anybody else. It just makes my life sweeter.
I usually check and see if they ever did anything I would care about but it is generally a waste of time and I have better things to do with it then stay up at night worrying that I might miss something.
I would do the same with mediocre mods like this. I mean I get the point of the mod, but top 5 vote? If I operated Nexus, I would set the bar much much higher to achieve Hot Files and Top 5 mods. I don't find this mod funny. But that's me.
I do however find it funny that this mod and anything anyone creates that is supposed to be a pun towards Creation Club, it has zero effect towards Bethesda and their ambition with CC. I find it funny that people aren't actually taking their words serious to have CC removed. I find it funny that massive amounts of people joined BethNet and fell for it not realizing that this whole thing was just a set up. I guess because I stopped caring about Bethesda a long time ago so my cynicism and arrogance always gets the best of me and I get the last laugh.
Anyways, I didn't misunderstand you, I knew your motives, but I had a feeling you just didn't realize the bigger problem is the people who like to endorse and vote mediocre things. This is one reason why I stay away as much as possible from Nexus as I can. Because it feels more like social media than it does a mod community.
I wouldn't call this mediocre - for me the good original idea is important too and that is what is valued here - because it is brilliant. The fact behind is sad, but atleast I don't feel so down about it anymore, thanks to this person - so another reason why endorsed.
Yeah, of course, I do realize the bigger problem but that wasn't what I was addressing.
Respectfully suggest you may be overreacting, though. Good, skillfully made mods are being outvoted in favor of easy to do, silly followers (Obviously I am not talking about magnificent work like Inigo is.) Well-crafted satire like THIS is a breath of fresh air.
Of course the CEO's at Bethesda couldn't obviously care less about us or our opinion but I don't think that really is who it is intended to entertain. ( It had to be a clever satire or it would never have gotten so high in the hotfiles without oversized secondary sexual characteristics tacked onto it somehow. LOL)
As long as there are still really great mods being published here, it is still probably worth my time to dig them out from under the thousands of pounds of boobs and butts for as long as I still play Skyrim. As was my point in my first post, the blocking tool makes that job a little easier and less annoying for me, and it doesn't bother the people who are entertained by that genre
( It also isn't likely to weed out the WAY less of a problem pecs and male butts that *I* am entertained by.) :-)
Why would I want to do that? That would block the guys too! :-OThey are way less in the way of good mods and far and away more entertaining to me. It would be nice if we had better filtering tools but as things stand, I count myself lucky to have this much, crude as it is.
I'm not fully sure it works fully that way, i remember blocking a mod aurthor a while due to his pedo bait characters, but i still kept seeing them in hotfiles. probably have to block certain tags to not see them only.
SacredSage, I don't necessarily think Skyrim modding is dying, keep in mind. It's much easier to go into race menu and make a "Sexy" follower or preset, than it is to write/model/clutter/voice act/script/test/(I think you get the picture) a good mod(of course depending on the mod), so of course these crappy presets and followers outnumber quality mods. on a slightly unrelated note, never knew you could block those mod authors, that's helpful XD
They can come back to the lovely world of Morrowind, which still produces pretty good mods, albeit at a much slower pace. Quality over quantity though. :D
I think maybe you missed the joke? It definitely wasn't aimed at any mod authors... Unless you mean the slimey marketing person that came up with the Creation Club idea? In which case, absobloodylutely
