REDWATER DEN SAVED GAME README
The Character (Redden Kardax, Nord, Level 2) spawns in a locked room in the Abandoned Prison. Search the room for the entrance to Redwater Den and It will take you to the first ladder just inside of Redwater Den. Next you will get a Change Race Menu so you can set up your own character. Once youre good to go have a look around and gear up as there are plenty of items to get from a variety of storage containers which are safe. Note: There are 2 additional Change Race Menus just in case you want to make any more changes One is located in the Cellar of Anises Cabin, the other is in the Warehouse near the Windhelm water docks. I need to explain how the Den is set out before you go any further. The Hatch going to Solitude Dour Tower goes to a small cell with an Imperial deco look. The top level doesnt have anything of much interest except for a chair that will take you into another closed in area with 3 chests. They are filled with Dawnguard equipment and are Master Locked until you come back at a later time with lockpicks and enough skill to open them. The lower level contains some storage containers with clothing and misc items. There you will find a ladder returning to Redwater Den and another door which goes to the Black Briar Lodge and is intended to help you by giving you a shortcut to the entrance to DawnGuard. Because you have only just started, I would not recommend taking this door until later on (after the Greybeards).
The other Hatch that says Warehouse Bookshelves actually goes to a small cell that I have set up with a Werewolf theme. Youll find pelts, totems, storage containers and a door going to the Jorvaskr living Quarters. The door is Master Locked for a later time, but the idea is to join the Companions, do the Quests and make a decision whether to be a Werewolf or not. This doorway will give you a pathway from the living quarters back to this room which returns to Redwater Den. The ladder in this room will take you back to Redwater Den. You will also find some Werewolf rings and other items inside the Chests but they wont work until you have become a Werewolf. Back in Redwater Den you also see a ladder between the 2 hatches which will take you back to the Abandoned Prison. The abandoned Prison is not modified except for the Hatch that leads back to Redwater Den.
Further inside Redwater Den you will find the following areas:
A series of rooms filled with jewels, jewellery, gold, and various items of interest. Take note of the Strong Box in the caged Bar area. It contains an enchanted ring and necklace and I recommend wearing them. They nearly double all of your stats, armor and weapons. I will name them V1 as I have made more of them from V1 V8. The enchanted items V2 and V3 are hidden in the Redwater Den Areas so keep an eye out for them. V4 V8 are locked away in Master Locked Chests so you will need Lockpicks and high skills to get into them and thats why you may not find any lockpicks available in Redwater Den. Youll need to come back at a later time to get the really good items.
A crafting area for Alchemy and Enchanting as well as crafting materials. Search the strong boxes for enchanted jewellery. Any chests that are master locked contain more powerful items for later on.
A smithing area with all stations plus materials to work with. Again check the strong boxes.
Further down past the tunnels you will find another Alchemy and Enchanting area more aligned to the Mage side. Find the hidden Pull Chain to open the hidden room (I call it the Staff Room).
Going further into the Den, the path splits. Right will lead into the Vampire area, the left path leads to 2 open doorways. If you step off of the edge of any of the open doorways, you end up back at the inside entrance of the Redwater Den. Just one option to get back upstairs fast. If you continue on the path to the right, you will come to the doorway to Redwater Springs which will take you into the Vampire area. This area is more suited for Vampire types. It is dark, damp and filled with Coffin beds, Vampire Cattle and Redwater Springs which if you click on you will immediately contract the sanguine vampire disease as well as other diseases. I need to make an important note about this area there are some Vampires still in this area. When I was first working on the Save, I trapped the Vampires in a Cage deep in the Redwater Springs Dungeons area which contained them and was working well. But I did notice as I was finalising this Save, one had escaped as may still be lurking around. She is pretty powerful, so If you wander into this area without gearing up and having plenty of health potions, you may find yourself dead. Also, you will need potions of cure disease as any close contact with the Vampires will give you the possibility of contracting sanguine vampire disease.
Note: Which brings up why I trapped the Vampires in the first place. I was looking for an easy way to contract sanguine vampirism if I wanted to become a vampire. If you go up to the cage full of Vampires and hang around long enough without dying, you have a good chance to catch the sanguine vampire disease. If you wait long enough, you will permanently turn into a Vampire. And what better place to hang out than your own bat cave. So if you want to eventually be a vampire, please dont kill all of the Vampires. The one running loose may have to go, but leave the rest. If you never want to be a Vampire, well then have fun getting rid of them all. In any case, I would highly suggest completing the Main Quests Kill Dragons get the extra Dragon Souls etc. before trying out the Vampire thing.
Also in the Redwater Springs area you will find an area where it looks like a ceremonial area with lots of doors. In one of the rooms you will find a chest with a door above it which goes to Falions House. I placed that door there as a convenience to get to Falions to speak to him about getting rid of being a Vampire in the event that you dont want to be a Vampire any longer. Otherwise its a shortcut to Morthal. You will also find chairs around that have a Blue glowing orb above them. These are my fast travel chairs as when you click on them and stand up, you will be taken to another area without all of the walking.
Beware of the Pit, its full of spikes and you die if you fall into it. Take note of the broken pathway above the pit area, on the far side which you cant get to normally is a chest which is very valuable. In it I have placed my most powerful enchanted items and weapons. You need to complete the Quests which gives you the whirlwind shouts in order to get to the chest and it will be worth it. You will also have to have Mastered the Lock Picking skills to get into it.
I forgot to mention that there is another door into Redwater Springs area which is located in the first Crafting room area. After going through the doors there you will find chests full of Vampire related items if you become a Vampire. This door also leads directly to the Redwater Spring itself.
Finally we come to a bonus item that I would like to mention. I have created 3 areas where after you have entered them, you will receive more Dragon Souls. But you must have completed the Quests for the Greybeards first before going into the rooms or you will end up wasting the Souls. The rooms are located at Cracked Tusk Keep. Find the ladder that says Pelagius Wing, click on it, find the Double Dragons and enter the doors behind them, then take each ladder one at a time into those rooms and wait. You will then start to get Dragon Souls with a possibility of around 30 40. You will also have to walk around each part of the room as the Dead Dragons are invisible and you need to get close to them to start the transfer. You will also find some towers in some of the rooms which you will go up to get more Souls. And one of the rooms is a bonus room in itself. The infamous QA Smoke editors room. Hopefully Ive covered everything, if not Ill be back with an update. Good Gaming!
