I created this mod, because I loved the bow in Skyrim, but wished for a version of it that could fire like a modern bow, or like the Dawnguard crossbows.
I loved the Auriel’s bow model, but was slightly disappointed with the kind of “meh” enchantments on the arrows. I loved Zephyr for the effect, but preferred the Auriel’s bow model for looks. Therefore I created a version of the Auriel’s bow, with an enchanced Zephyr effect.
It fires 50% faster than a normal bow, but in much the same way a crossbow does. This serves to balance out the crossbow bolt's 50% armor penetration effect.
It’s celestial arrows fire further, straighter and faster than regular arrows – similar to a crossbow bolt, or an arrow fired a modern compound bow.
There are three different versions of the mod:
- Normal (Not enchantable bow with non-enchanted regular celestial arrows only). - Enchanted Arrows (Not enchantable bow with enchanted and regular celestial arrows). - Enchantable (Enchantable bow with enchanted and regular celestial arrows).
This mod is stand-alone and you do not need the Dawnguard DLC for it.
Please let me know what you think of the mod and if you have any suggestions for improving the mod.
Yes! I love this bow! I would like to ask if you can correct the POI (point of impact) to match the POA (point of aim)? At any distance, it hits about 3feet higher than the POA. Right now I aim for the NPC's crotch for a neck/ head shot. I do hope you can fix this.
Sir Avengarth could you make a new version of the celestial bow that automatically equip a quiver of enchanted arrows? (like conjure bow spell) this will make the bow a lot more useful for those sneaky players that don't want to buy or craft arrows
I really like this mod, but I'll have to stop using it because all my shots are flying way above my target's head. I think what's happening is that when the trajectory got flattened, the game still puts that initial high angle on the shot so it never comes down to where the crosshairs are. I tried a vanilla bow/arrows and they worked just fine.
Hi there, first of all I want to say that I like the mod a lot, tested it for a bit and it looks great. I'm also of the same mindset as you, auriel's model + zephyr effect = WIN.
I do have ONE complaint though, the zoom in with the bow is just too strong I think, and it modifies the zoom in capacity of all bows. Is it possible to maybe either revert the zoom in to normal values or keep the boosted zoom in only when using this bow?
Also have you considered maybe tying this weapon's recipe/way to obtain it to a specific quest that's not that early in the game to actually make the bow feel more rewarding?
BOTTOM LINE: I just wish the mega zoom in was only for this bow and not all bows/revert it to normal values if you can't separate it.
I don't understand, how did removing it break your save so that you had to reinstall the game again? Is there something wrong with the mod or is it because there are scripts? If it is because of scripts, most modders advise not to remove a scripted mod from the game mid-playthrough but if you must for some reason you can use a script cleaner to try to avoid the problem of leftover scripts. If you are simply testing the mod you should make a hard save, load the mod, test it, never save while testing it, then remove the mod, and go back to the save you had before the mod was added and in most cases that should be okay. Also, you should be able to remove the mod, then start a new game without the mod installed without having to reinstall the game again, so I'm kind of concerned that there is something very wrong. Please expound further. Thank you.
your mod its great. but however. the color of celestial bow are shinning metalic. the arrow color are fine. i already replace the mod twice. but it didnt fix the color of my celestial bow. it still have shinning metalic color. any advice? help
I am loving this bow. An interesting note: If I shoot someone at point-blank range with this bow while also using Archery Gameplay Overhaul, my arrows like to bounce off the enemy at the new velocities and into ME. I've had to pull my own arrows, that killed the enemy, out of my own body more than once. This isn't a complaint, as I find it hilarious and it doesn't actually hurt me much, but something funny you might want to be aware of. Low-levels might be able to kill themselves with it.
Just a heads up. You aren't allowed to package an actual game asset in your mod. Only edits and originals. Just mentioning it because from what I understand, you used the Auriel Bow model, but retextured it?
Vielen Dank, Avengarth
(English) Hi There, Thank you for pointing out the error. It has been fixed with version 1.0.1. I will look into you suggestion on the arrows. Thank you, Avengarth

The enchantable version has been fixed. It is now fully enchantable, not just disenchantable.
Please download the latest version 1.0.1.
Thank you,
Avengarth
Thanks for a great weapon mod,

edit: hint: do a copy of your data folder before install, so you can just replace original files instead re-install
I have taken cognizance of your feedback. Thank you for that.
It has to do with the increased range of the bow and mostly affects point blank shooting.
I have tweaked the settings and reduced the maximum range lower the max range and this has (more or less) resolved this issue.
Will upload the new file shorty.

Aven

Thank you for your feedback. But you need not be concerned, the Auriel's bow model is heavily edited and re-textured.
It is in accordance to this guideline: https://www.creationkit.com/index.php?title=Retexture_Tutorial.
