Just for sure, are you wecherries on steam? I prefer to download mods from there, and just to check it really is the exact same mod. Btw, I had been searching for an hour until I found this. Exactly what I was looking for. Not too many, just some more gems to collect. Love them, thanks :)

Can you use both this mod and immersive jewelry together? I need ALL the gems :D

Edit: Seems to work just fine with both immersive jewelry and complete crafting overhaul remade! There are a few gems that are invisible though, i'll make a list of which these are next time im playing and list them here to see if there's a solution.

I had the same problem of invisible gems and pearls. I solved it by taking the .dds and .nif files from textures/ADB_MODS/gems and meshes/ADB_MODS/gems respectively and placing them directly under the textures and meshes folders, without sublevels.
I'd installed it with Mod Manager, just in case.

I so wish you could use these to craft with. They are beautiful.

Reminds me of a similiar mod they used to have on the Morrowind Nexus.

Quick question, you can get these from mining, yes?

Actually, I have no idea if they turn up when mining. If anyone sees this happen, please let us know here. In any case I didn't specifically look into whether I needed to change any more things to get the mining action script to produce these. They might not turn up anywhere but urns and chests and bodies etc. I really don't know. It's possible though.

Bravo for long hours working on this mod, but you could have saved yourself a lot of time and used one clear mesh but just used different texture layers on it in the ck to make different gems. That's what I did in Immersive Jewelry.

I would love a more detailed explanation on how to do this. Couldn't find the right short cut, lol. Even looked through several discussions on the subject. Please, I would love to know more.

Reading the description page of the mod and thought of IJ right away and wanted to post that in the comments and here you are.

When you click on the mesh for your misc object in the CK, a window will come up displaying it, but there will also be a field containing the names of all the NiTrishapes in the mesh. If you click those, you can assign "texture sets" from a list of the same you might have created elsewhere in the CK.

In the "texture set" section of the CK, you can create a set that includes a diffuse, a normal, an environment mask, and a cubemap, and then assign it to multiple copies of a mesh to create reskinned versions of the same item, as mentioned above. For something like a gem, this is very simple - the texture can be a pure field of color with no details, and a normal map is not even needed. Then any decently reflective cubemap applied makes a nice gem surface.

Thank you very much, I definitely appreciate it! This opens up so much possibility! I had no idea. Thank you so much! ... ... ... (And in reference to another comment below which concerns yourself and IJ... I'm guessing the main difficulty would indeed be in myself trying to gain all those same permissions from all the creators who contributed to Immersive Jewelry... am I right? I can no longer find half the mods referenced there. I keep wondering where they went, and if many of the ones I would like to join with this mod and another I've yet to release... if they are forever beyond reach. Any opinions or thoughts on the matter?)

Not only does it save a ridiculous amount of time, but it saves on file size since you don't need multiple copies of meshes.

What's your idea that would involve contacting the jewelry mod makers from IJ? Making it so these gems can make yet more recolors of their stuff?

That's a very important point about file size. Thank you.

Yes. I would like to make some new recolors of my own. Possibly only use my own color schemes. Full sets that go together across rings circlets necklaces etc... Possibly make a work station just for the jewelry crafting. I also have made new metal types (and new materials for armors not yet made). The metals are not yet published, but I have put up pictures. They are not much use if you can't make anything cool with them, right?

In any case, I don't want to use everything in IJ... just some of my favorites. I don't much care for the vanilla game jewelry pieces, so I'd rather make these gems useful in making at least a few beautiful high quality mod jewelry pieces. I also suspect that some of the jewelry may have stones that can't be a part of the crafting recipe because those stones are no where in the game -- until now. Like onyx, citrine, peridot... maybe even morganite is needed. Better emersion! More stuff to surprise you when you loot a chest!

I might not make all craft-able (maybe only a few!) But it would make more sense to have jewelry that matches the gems and metals, and to be able to find them in the world, in a chest, off a dead body... etc!

You're right, there were a few gem types in IJ that could not be made from raw materials but instead only found. It wasn't onyx or peridot - there are raw onyxes and peridot was considered a type of poor quality topaz for that mod ( as it was in medieval times ). The jewelry stones that do not exist as raw materials to make jewelry in IJ are instead aquamarine and amber. I explained that away by saying that amber only comes from Falskaar, and Aquamarine used to come from Atmora...

If you're using IJ alongside, adding new jewelry to leveled lists may be problematic, because they're full. I'm not saying it's impossible, but it would be very time consuming, because one would have to go through the leveled lists and relace them to distribute their contests across more sublists in a balanced and equal chanced way.

Thank you very much for all the information!

Not exactly. I find that there are way more items in IJ than I can handle. I was hoping to make a more simple and concise list of jewelry pieces to stand on their own. Just a few of this type, and that type, just the few that I find particularly exceptional above all the rest. And then just make a few nice versions, and then add those to leveled lists. I'm not even sure if my machine can even handle as many pieces as IJ adds, lol! I've really enjoyed and benefitted from all that you've shared and explained! Thanks a bunch.

What a lovely idea! They're so beautiful! Makes me want to collect them obsessively and then fill up the cellar in Heljarchen Hall with them so I could swim in them like Scrooge McDuck XD Can't wait to see them in jewellery.

Looks promising... I can't wait to see what you have in store for it! Perhaps you could even work with Forteverum to incorporate Immersive Jewelry, as a thought.

I am currently looking for permissions to use these gems with other mods. As I receive permission, I will likely begin work on several exciting new mods. For instance, I would like to use this mod with an unpublished one I've nearly perfected that adds new metal/material types to the game; and then use both of those with jewelry, and possibly clothing or armor mods. But I need permission first. 3D model creation is not a skill set I have as of yet, and may be a long time before I develop the ability to create anything worthwhile in that area. Thanks for the encouragement! Its quite appreciated.
