Hmm, why not? Here's BrigandineArmor.esp with the Coat of the Bloodmoon looking like the Dawnguard full helmet: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1B2mlCp64E34oeQH1JITPZVeB03Uxp58O
This mod actually helped me more than you could have imagined.. I somehow deleted the .nif stuff from the dawnguard.bsa and in place of the armors i was getting a red triangle with an exclamation mark, placing these files inside my skyrim data folder fixed it. lol
gambeson wasn't plated, you wore it under armor, it supposed to protect wearer from sores wearing armor "provides" most fantasy games disregards historical armaments to the point I no longer care, but since I bumped in this topic
brigantine had plating between two layers of leather and/or quilted cloth only studs were visible, what dawnguard armor is a kind of lamellar armour frequently mistook for scale mail or corazzina, but those had plates arranged in fish/reptile-like fashion, not next to each other plus plates themselves were finer, often shaped after fish/reptile scales too
but this apart, call it brigantine if you like, with all that mess in games, who cares if it's correct
Guys, the author is here. No way I'm an expert on medieval armors, so my excuses for the name are pretty stupid: - Imagine that the outer plates are there just for decoration, with the "real" plates being riveted inside and thus not visible. - I like the word "brigandine".
If calling it "brigandine" is still ridiculous though, I have no problems with renaming it to "lamellar" or whatever else fits better (as long as it's pretty short).
