Just here to say that I really enjoy the concept behind this mod. It's lore-friendly and the face for Lydia is improved yet still keeping within the style of the game. I'm excited to see more from this series in the future. Cheers.
I love how this mod looks, however it crashes my skyrim every time ;-; For this mod to work, do you need the skyrim special edition patch, and all 3 skyrim DLC's? I have none of these, and that may be the problem.

I love this! It gives a whole new level of depth to the character, and the lack of super-mega-strong makeup makes it much more believable for her to be a strong warrior holding the honorable position of housecarl.

Sorry, but I think you've strayed too far. She looks Asian now, instead of Nordic/Western. The hairstyle is also different. I get what you're striving for, though, and it's a good concept.
A perfect example (in my opinion) of retaining their vanilla features is the Bijin mods, if you compare it side-by-side to the vanilla characters. However, you can still make your mod different by not making Lydia (and others like her) too pretty because I don't think she's gonna wear make up and have perfect hair.
Another unsolicited advice: People are most recognizable by their eyes, so they should have the same eye shape as their vanilla counterparts. Oh, and also the same jawline.
Bijin doesn't retain vanilla features at all. Saying that is just insulting to rxkx22, the creator of the Bijin series of overhauls. And a side by side comparison of Bijin vs, Vanilla would show by your standards, would fail. Because Bijin's Lydia uses Makeup and has perfect hair in that mod as well. I know because I use the Bijin series in my game.
The problem everyone has with Vanilla females and males, is that they both look like shaved Gorilla's on Meth. It's unnatural and ugly. Something everyone wants to fix.
If we wanted to be comparable to vanilla, but still beautify the followers, the closest mod you could get for that would be Children of Skyrim - Nord Presets' and it's follower appearance overhauls by FastestDogInTheDistrict. It is closer to Vanilla, but gives a more natural appearance, without having any one look like a shaved Gorilla on Meth.
And honestly, I'm fine with a more Asian looking Lydia. Might not be Lore Friendly, but who cares? As long as the mod author is happy and it appeals to those that want a more Asian looking Lydia. That's all that should matter in the end.
I mean we got Bijins series to appeal to those that want a beautiful followers and NPC's overhaul We Got Children of Skyrim Nord Presets and Brettonia Presets with it's NPC overhauls for those that want to retain the vanilla look but enhance it to get rid of the on meth look. We Got NPC overhauls by IdioticIdiotic that make many NPC's look like Doll type Loli's. We Got Ultimate NPC Overhaul II which literally looks like Butt Ugly Asians. WE Got GCE NPC Replacer which is the exact opposite of ultimate NPC Overhaul II and a ton more to appeal to several audiences of people.
So let's just let the mod author create what he wants and what he thinks and feels is truly NATURAL People.

I use it as well, so I can tell. gem, you have every right to form a constructive criticism and give your opinion. Don't let other people shut you down because their feelings were offended by someone else's opinion/fact/critique, because they'll never stop.
And between you and I (and many others who think the same), all Bijin NPCs look the same more or less, that's hardly an accomplishment if the aim was going for unique/standout NPCs. Vanilla Lydia was used as the base and her vanilla nose is a dead give away. Just look at Bijin Lydia and also look at Irileth. He did a fine job for the base shape for the project, but anyone can take one sculpt face, do some minor tweaking and call it another character.
I like that she is pretty but not the same old boring booty babe cover model everybody seems to take screenshots of. I can believe in her as somebody real that doesn't have a makeup artist following her and powdering her nose with glitter every five minutes.

She does not look overly Asian to me.It would probably help if you brought the outer corners of her eyes down a bit to avoid the cat-eye look. The inner corners are perfect. My husband is a Nord and his slant down just like that. (Can you tell I am a portrait artist? LOL)
*chuckles* Yes I can! And I'm getting that comment a lot, So I;m taking it to heart! I'm on medical watch for a while so it'll be like a week (I had blood sugar crash and I'm not diabetic!) , but I'll keep ya'll posted.
