Well, I done played all in this series now. This one felt like a combination, upon first look and at a distance it felt a little like your Riften mod, the stacked houses made more sense here than with Whiterun, but like that one, didn't like the houses going through walls, particularly when they go through stairwells and partially block them that you have to squeeze through and some houses I liked, other were poorly laid out and some were so low that I could only partially enter and I was using a Breton and couldn't even fit, though there is a mod that allows one to fit into smaller spaces, haven't been using that for a while.
Like with the questing notes and journals from your Morthal, Riften and Whiterun mods, loved that part, the writing is intriguing and keeps me reading and wondering where I'll go next and what will happen, and following the clues and finding the keys adds depth to your city mods beyond just the usual added buildings and NPCs. My favorite detail in Solitude was the water fountain between the bridge and the Hall of the Dead, was thinking of adding that to Solitude Overgrown that I edited, trimmed down, in which I cut out all the added trees, leaving only the beautiful fountains, would go good with those. I had a hard time finding the Hall of Records, didn't notice the door because a pine shrub from the Skyrim Update was blocking the door, so it took me a few tours around Solitude before I noticed it. Exploring this one was as enjoyable as Riften, but I didn't like the houses other than the tower player home which like the Riften one is nice, simple and with good views.
Despite the cities not really quite being my taste in design (Morthal was the best, very befitting) I did enjoy exploring them (least though being Dawnstar, that was a 10 minuter) and thank you for sharing your versions of these cities.
Great mod, I don't know if there will be updates yet, but apparently it is impossible to access the Legacy of the dragonborn gallery, until it is possible, unfortunately I will have to uninstall this mod :/
Excellent mod, easily rivals JK in my opinion. Plus, unlike a lot of town mods that pop up, it's squeaky clean-- not a UDR or ITM that I could find in any of your work. The only reason I can think of that this is so under-endorsed is the series name. "Another X Mod" is a little too self-deprecating for this level of work-- if I weren't obsessed with finding good town/city upgrades, I would have overlooked them, and missed some of the best overhauls out there. Maybe consider re-releasing under a different series title?
Hey, thanks! Solitude's by far my favorite of my mods, and I'm always glad to see it getting some love. I have occasionally considered changing the series name, but I have yet to come up with a satisfactory alternative, and I've gotten slightly attached to Another Skyrim. I guess I could just change it to Another Skyrim: Solitude, or something of that nature. I'll give it some thought.
and it's more like a slutty mod than a fun mode just has a mess I think he added heavy texture to the rubble and put it mod for some troucha fall like me
I was looking for a Solitude overhaul mod that worked with the market bookseller that the Kaiden follower mod added to Solitude, and I'm pleased that this mod is one of the few (only?) compatible ones. Thank you! It also works with Jokerine's Honey Spirit and Cake O'Clock (alternate location next to Radiant Raiment), and only clips a tiny bit with Mannygt's Books of Skyrim, so that was a nice bonus.
One problem I did find is that the tower stairway next to the execution area that leads up to the wall is completely blocked on the interior by the houses you've added between the front gate and the execution stage. If you ever take another look at the mod, it would be fantastic to see this corrected. Also, the lighting in the player homes is really dim and could use brightening. Otherwise I'm very pleased to have a mod for Solitude that makes it look bigger and more crowded, but doesn't mess with the navmesh. Thank you!
