I'd much rather have a ward spell that uses no magicka until it begins to actually absord damage from spells/melee. Vanilla ward spells are practically useless, and most of the ward mods on Nexus make NPC mages even more difficult to defeat.

I used this the last time I modded skyrim back into oblivion and I shall use it again this time! -Endorsededed-
Only thing we need now is a normal shield version that makes blocking reduce stamina instead of less damage to health. Dark Souls style :3 (and yet there seems to be nothing of the sort anywhere yet =_=; )

I'm having a bug where the spells aren't appearing in vendors and the spells are showing up as the old spells

Thank you for making wards the way they should've been all along! Endorsed.

I'm still having a small amount of magic drained over time just by using lesser ward(not tested in combat). Its better than vanilla but still not like in your description.

Glitch (?) for game version 1.4.21: When using the Dynamic Wards against a dragon's breath, no magick or heath is loss. I believe it has something to do with the damage being pure "burn" or "poison" style draining damage rather than an "impact" damage like a sword or arrow, which takes health immediately. I.E: DOT rather than Damage.

Not that I don't LIKE it, I just don't think it was on purpose. Endorsed. Cheers.

EDIT: I don't think its relevant, but for the record I had Deadly Dragons installed. The latest version at the time of this writing.

I really like this idea, but I have a suggestion, not sure if it will work. Maybe you can set up the wards to that they will stay up continuously while consuming magicka, and continue to stay up as long as it is hit by spells that does lower damage than if can take. However, if the spell is too powerful for the ward, the spell will stagger and deal full damage.

Also, is it possible to remove the charge time before the ward is ready to use, since the charging makes the wards essentially useless, since you have to constantly turn them on and off.

@cryptonite1, notice that the perks that half the magicka cost do have effect, so having Novice Restoration perk, Lesser Ward only absorbs 75% of the damage from magicka.
And it should restore health.. it does for me. Sure you dont have an old version of the script or something?
The wards have a constant drain of 1 point per second, so it should drain your magicka a little bit.
And, yes, this kinda makes Ward Absorb useless. Although it can reduce the amount of magicka drained from spells, but you might not even notice that.
