Is there anyway you can make it to where u can use common gems to restore X magicka X amount of times per day, use souls to "level up" staffs, staffs uses soul gems per cast. Also make scrolls a "Effect over time" situation? Tomes use soul gems to learn spells, a soul gem merchant where u trade soul gems for rare items. Black soul gems gives you negative effects, a quest to learn about soul gems and the choice to cleanse the negative affects permanently from the world or to control it. Filled Black soul gems make you pass out and teleport you to a nearby end when you are supposed to die..If u can incorporate all of this i think you would have a pretty solid mod...Also soul fragments restore health for the blood mages and satisfy the "feed" option for vampires and werewolves. Filled Petty soul gems drain X health per second while in inventory, lesser filled gems weight increase enchantments by X amount, greater gems activates soul cloak for XXX amount of seconds. increase weight of Grand soul gems by X amount so nobody can run around with too many of them...hmm Having over 100 conjuration, 70, sneaking, 50 alteration, 50 destruction,40 illusion, 40 restoration 50, smithing, 60 alchemy and 60 enchantment skills and X amount of black soul gems and some perks that will allow the creation of some soul type armor to be able to change into a lich like the werewolf rings. In lich form u are hated and if seen 10k bounty automatically being seen while transforming would cast the mass paralysis effect and invisibilty.
If it is possible, could you make a version of the mod where it uses the regular enchanting table but it adds an option to create the soul gems, this would be great for people who use other mods that change the looks of the college and increase overall compatibility.
I like this and have used earlier versions (craftable soul gems) but don't see any reason for a special workstation for crafting soul gems.
This mod http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/19063 has what seems to be a smoother way of handling soul gem fragments but I haven't tried it in-game so that could just be a misconception on my part. I don't like how it requires you to waste a rare Daedra Heart to make a black soul gem, however, so your mod wins overall.
Perhaps you could have some sort of configuration script for SkyUI + MGM (or even just for NMM), that would allow the user to choose whether to use the special workstation or one of the existing ones (alchemy, enchanting or forge). I kind of fancy the alchemy one because in my mind altering one thing into another should require some sort of reagent or catalyst. The config could also allow the user to choose only some of the recipes and not others.
Can also mine Black soul gems in the Geode veins in Blackreach, in the same vein as normal soul gems, so I also don't see why you would need a filled Grand to make a Black, it's like it just has a slightly different mineral content. Other than that, it sounds great.
As for converting, is this really Enchanting, or should this be Alteration?
I've been looking for something along these lines before making a mod myself What I like about your mod: A separate crafting station for soul gem meddling. I REALLY prefer this over using any existing stations. Just get that different model when you can What I dislike about your mod: I think that http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/19063 does a better job on the recipes, particularly with the use of a daedra heart for black soul gems. I personally dislike being able to "upgrade" soul gems into a higher gem. I would prefer JUST crafting the fragments. Suggestions: I think some sort of perk or special item that allows soul gem crafting would be nice, especially to make it more lore friendly since it's not a traditional capability in TES. If Blackreach is hard to get to or too inconvenient, an NPC buddy that goes to Blackreach and mines for you and brings you back the loot would be an interesting addition; every few days or weeks he'll return and place a bunch of soul gems and fragments in a chest by your crafting station. Make an optional esp that excludes upgrading soul gems. All in all, this is the most comprehensive soul gem crafting mod available. I'll probably download it and edit it to suit my tastes - essentially taking CS Soul Fragments... and attach the recipes to your workstation using the vanilla disenchanter model. I really like that random unused vanilla model. It's located in meshes\furniture\workbenches\disenchantworkbench01.nif and you should definitely use it!
Same problem here. When making a Greater soul gem Enchanting went from 55 to 79. If I made a Grand soul gem, it went up to 80. Other than this, a great mod.
Will have to wait for a fix though, I feel like cheating when this happens.
