This still seems to work pretty well in 2023, strangely enough. I was dissatisfied with the dumpy, dwarf-like children with big heads, so I changed the heights from 0.8 to 0.84 with SSEEdit and installed this mod, which improved them considerably. Endorsed.
This seems to work for SE without any extra steps. :)
It does make the heads of male children less grotesquely huge. but also now the heads of female children are a little small. So a bit of a tradeoff there.
Hello? Pls do no judge how my children look, they like like that but they no have nudity, again I can no upload appearance mod since they use over 50 mod, they faces look diferent becouse I uses NifMerge, RaceMenu and CK. (Lucia and Sofie was hardest to edit).
Firsts of all you needs NifMerge and NifSkope along with RaceMenu
Now we need create your character/npc face in RaceMenu (if you wants a children face then use the RS races, I use adult race once and trust me it gnarly, look like goblin.)
Second go to sculpt tab of RaceMenu then click export, then exit game.
3.) sorry I gets tired, go to Data>SKSE>Plugins>Chargen then find face you create, then open with NifSkope to see if face is okay, sometimes, not checking face can be bad, it can sometimes be only hair, eyes, and mouth, trust me it give you nightmare, and do no worry if hair is floating above head sometimes, it normal,
4.) Now open up NifMerge, place original face geom of npc on Target, and place face that you create in Source, tick merge child nodes, then clicks match by vertex.
5.) Go to game and see how good you make npc look!
Warning! Sometimes face with different hairstyle can cause original npc to get "translucent" hair.
