Is there any way to achieve this for Special Edition? I have been looking everywhere for a mod that will allow me to do this but I havent found anything yet.
first off I really thank you for this mod. Almost completely what I was looking for. I do have a question though:
Is it possible to make this not as a reference but to actually copy the ancient dragon mesh into Odahviing's (a mesh replacement of sorts)? Because I noticed that if I use a dragon texture replacer (like the one you linked for example) that Odahviing doesn't take on the "special" texture for Odahviing but rather the normal ancient dragon texture.
Additionally, if it is really simple and you have the time and feel like doing this, I would be really grateful. However, if you can't or won't do it, could you give me a quick rundown of where to look for the right tutorial or if it is simple enough quickly explain how I could do it myself? I have barely any experience and any attempts thus far have not been successful. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm really sorry, but isn't this feature already implemented here? Because I use that mod and have exactly same replacement for this dragon. As well as for many others.
Oh I understand the confusion. No, it's not the same thing. If you pay attention, you can see the Odahviing replacer in that mod is the base Odahviing with a retexture similar to the ancient dragon (red and black).
If you look closely at my replacer, you can see that the dragon type is completely different. It is not the original Odahviing recolored, it's a big ancient dragon with his big head and neck.
So, your esp changes the mesh path of Odahviing to the ancient dragon. If I understand properly. Therefore, the small file size and lack of included meshes. Hope this helps any confusion. I like it.
not to be a bother.. but could you maybe do a side by side screen of them? just curious what the major differences in the ancient dragon model is compared to his normal one
I already did but I understand it's not easy to spot the differences.
Odahviing has more horns and overall is smaller. The ancient dragon and the elder dragon share the same model but different textures. One is golden, one is red/black.
Again, I did not copy an existing mod. Check this image:
i can see the differences more clearly thank you. his crest is bigger and the crown around his horns. definitely a mightier looking Odahviing than before, they shoulda done this look for him in the first place! thank you again for the pic. definitely will be a permanent part of my modlist now
