Thank you for all the comments and suggestions. I read them all. Enjoy.

What is the More Art version?
A fully decorated college with new art and instrument clutter. Has new craft room, tower room, and weapon racks. 2 new player bedrooms.
    Version 8:
More art all over. Has everything in the vanilla style and more. A couple static new instruments are advanced.
**Note: I am aware the gold charcoal tray in the tower will revert to silver if harvested. Ignore for now.

    What is the Vanilla Style?
A decorated college using only base game resources. It is a plugin only version. No added mesh/textures. No
pictures/art/extra instruments as seen in the other Styles. Has new craft room, tower room, weapon racks. 2 new player bedrooms.
Downside? Wall decorations look like every other building.
Plus side? Smallest download file size possible. Easily crosses platforms.
No chance you will see a musical instrument you feel is un-immersive.

    What is the Original style?
The first decoration of the college. Originally designed to be compatible with Snazzy Furniture and Clutter (the option with paintings). Only has 1 new player room. NO tower room due to compatibility and I didn't feel like making patches at the time. Note this version has some Witcher game resources that some players had trouble getting their game to display properly. See change log.

    What is the Performance version?
A version with less added stuff. 512x performance texture sizes. Only has the 1 new player room. No tower. This was a player request, not being updated anymore.

    1. Request fulfilled: option with more wall art to fill the blank walls.
    2. Request fulfilled: performance texture version 512x. Reduced mod and clutter.
    3. Request fulfilled: remove guitars in v5 moreArt. Edit: see new Vanilla version!
    4. Request fulfilled: remove extra door in Vanilla Style and MoreArt.

Any feedback appreciated. Note I do not touch NPCs.

Made a super tiny patch that makes the Solitude Banner added by this mod Civil War aware. I have not tested it, but it should work: https://www.mediafire.com/file/5xxj1lkf5fj8auy/tcz_Bards_College_Civil_War_Aware_Banner.esp/file

This patch can be uploaded, modified, spat on, whatever you want.

Hey, that's great! I always wanted that functionality. I'll try firing up my other computer to test in game, but you are welcome to also release the patch on your own profile too.

In advance, thank you for testing. If it works, feel free to add it your mod :) Much easier for everyone.

Just for a quick write up, which is probably unneeded because my patch is so tiny you can easily check it yourself. What the patch does is add the Enable Parent CWGarrisonCivilWarSolitudeImperialEnableMarker (or something similar) to your banner, and also adds a new Stormcloak banner in the exact same place as your banner with the Enable Parent CWGarrisonCivilWarSolitudeSonsEnableMarker (or someting similar). Solitude starts with Imperial Garrison enabled, and if Stormcloaks take over Sons Garrison gets enable (thus disabling the Solitude flag, and enabling the Stormcloak flag).

    Happy Halloween everyone!
There seems to be a misperception of this mod. This mod doesn't just add a tower room. Other than the fancy decorations, there are a number of small background tweaks.
For example, before this mod college residents just sat and ate in their idle time. Now students might practice an instrument, teachers might play an instrument in their own rooms, and the servant has a cooking pot he can stir and cleaning actions to perform. Residents may browse a book or look at the entrance displays or wall art. All this was added without editing the NPC themselves, so that this mod could compliment other mods and be expanded on. It is little background stuff, not just curtains, ivy, and artwork. I did not want to list every minor change in a long description. Use the mod, expand on it, share it and enjoy.

I wish someone had expanded the Bard's College quest to feel like an actual, fleshed-out guild instead of just a glorified side-quest. I'm glad this exists though, so thanks.

Thanks, I was working on an update, when I noticed someone did expand the Bards College over on SSE (Bards Reborn). I think they based it on this Vanilla Style version and expanded from there, merging Becoming a Bard and others into one large cohesive expansion.

The pictures of your mod game on SSE version are gorgeous. Thank you!
LamaKreis' SSE version with pictures of the craft room and additional art

I'm sorry I am unable to make a compatibility patch for the extra door to the player home as I'm on another laptop without the game installed. (Update: found an old laptop, will check what I can do.) If anyone would like to expand the mod or make compatibility patches, please feel free and let everyone know in the comments.

Very nice! The decor you've added makes the place feel like a proper setting for the education of bards. And the addition of a tower room is genius. Even if one is not playing a bard character it's a great place to crash until one can afford Proudspire Manor. Definitely be keeping this mod in my game.
Two minor things I noticed with v7: xEdit shows 5 ITMs, three of which are the Proudspire Manor doors. Can these be cleaned? Also, in the tower room both the wardrobes and the chest are set to respawn.

    Many thanks for this

I don't have a good answer for the xEdit question. All I know is that xEdit has limited support for 2 things: navmesh and in-game scripting. When finalizing a navmesh (the area for NPCs to walk) in the Creation Kit, all teleport doors in the area get 'touched' during the calculation. This is why they show as ITMS in xEdit. In my experience, you can remove them. The reason to remove them is if you are worried about mod conflict (another mod making unsafe deletions to the doors in the Manor or College). The reason I keep them is in case there is some reference knowledge that would be lost. Should have no affect on NPC behavior, but I couldn't say for sure if they had to calculate 1 moment longer on which door to use.
I will double check the tower room containers. Thanks for the alert!

Thanks for the explanation, I didn't know the CK did that.
I did a test and found that the ITMs cause no problems for the unimproved vanilla Proudspire Manor. Nor is there any issue with Ghaunadaur's Proudspire Manor Refurbished (English version) mod fully implemented. So I'll just leave them.

A most welcome addition to Solitude, thanks again.

I am almost finished with an update. I went ahead and replaced all chests to be safe. Let me know if you have any problems with weapon rack respawns. Flora should respawn for you 10 days away from the college. The next update with have some clickable items, and it needs the flora to respawn to get refreshed. Hopefully there is no mod conflict affecting respawns.

I'm pretty sure this is what is causing a door error with https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/54982 (and presumably the original TNF Proudspire mod), which moves the back door interior location. This means that you end up spawning halfway down a stairwell.

At the bottom of that stairwell is a door marked Bard's College (and I notice one marked Proudspire in the college too) so perhaps there have been door edits when adding that door inside the college which affects the rear door to the manor.

I'm not familiar with that Proudspire Manor mod. If it changes the internal dimensions and/or floor plan of vanilla Proudspire Manor that would explain what you are seeing. The game spawns this mod's door to the Bard's College at the correct coordinates but the house around it is different than the vanilla Manor.

The only fix is to open both mods in the CK and move the wall, door, and marker placed by this mod to some suitable spot in that version of Proudspire Manor.

First of all, congratulations on your work. I'm trying out your Greybeards on exactly moment.
But I have one issue, I installed it after the bards college's quests, so the festival of Burning King Olaf has already happened but after I installed your mod, they repeated the scene. Does anyone else have this?

Sorry for the delay. This mod would not affect that. No exterior change, and no changing of NPC markers. There are some issues with the college you may experience without the USLEEP patches. Try loading from a savegame before and see if a 2nd try worked?

Sometimes the NPCs will stay there for a time, I remember they were over 24 hours in-game celebreating, clapping around the fire, later on they will just resume to their usual activities.

we don't need objects and items in the Bards College, we need stuff like you get in the mage College, quests and to go around skyrim playing and singing at inn.

Yes, it would be nice to have those things. So instead of coming here and denigrating the significant contribution Tcz has made to the game, why don't you go off and see what sort of contribution you can make in the way of quests and touring the inns.

Are you aware that it would be almost impossible to do it? He would have to include NPCs for that, he would have to use places and objects for quests, he would need to give voices to the NPCs, it is no simple task.

Wonderful overhaul of the Bard's College. Last time I played a bard I went with a different mod to add a bedroom, but your mod adds so much more to enjoy. Love all the art and the other "lived-in" touches. I also appreciate the multiple choices for player bedrooms and the option to use the extra to house bard followers. One thing I did notice (and this was a problem with the other bard bedroom mod I used before, too) is that none of the player bedrooms have bookshelves. I don't know about anyone else, but my bards tend to pick up a lot of books with songs and stories to increase their repertoire. And the Book Covers of Skyrim mod makes the covers so pretty that it's nice to show them off. If you make any adjustments to this mod in the future, would you please consider adding some bookshelves to the player rooms? Thanks for your great mod!

Thanks! I once thought about a bookshelf, then completely forgot about it. I tend to use glass bookcases (like in the College of Winterhold library) for large storage, but your explanation makes sense. I will see what I can do.
