Looks promising but what's the giant_tree texture for?

      For giant trees.

You see the first 3 pictures? That texture makes the larger trees look like that.

Skyrim uses that texture instead of the vanilla ones by loading loose files instead like the giant_tree.dds file your referring to.

Sorry I don't think I got you right but I know for sure that vanilla Skyrim don't have any texture named "giant_tree". If you unpack the textures .bsa of Skyrim you won't find any file with this name.

Yes, you are right Novem99 , there are no such dds in Vanilla Skyrim

It works with bigger trees on special edition.

      Its untested on oldrim

I don't see a reason as to why it would not be compatible though

Just posted an experimental SFO patch (experimental meaning I personally haven't actually tested it with SFO I used vivid landscapes )

Another user tested it for me who had sfo installed and helped me out with the workaround / patch

      Why it should work:

SFO has 2 files for the treepineforestbarkcomp texture

My one does as well but the naming is different with this patch it should work only replacing tree's that use the treepineforestbarkcomp texture

You MUST let the patch overwrite any files installed from SFO and there should only be 2

well the pictures look quite good, if this could get lod billboards (i think that's how it works im a little new to lod stuff) it would probably find a way into my perm loadout (cant try it now, doing a specialized loadout for a while)
      thx

I must say, i absolutely love, how trees look right now New bark is beautiful. Do you have a plans to make a new textures for snow trees? And, maybe, new textures for tree leaves? It would be lovely.
    Thank you

I notice a weird seam at the middle of tree. Probably, a texture seam.

      Hey thanks

I'm planning to work on the snow trees yes

I wasn't originally planning to do the tree leaves but since you asked I'll see what can be done

      As for the weird seam:

Are you using any other tree mod?

      Where is that tree located?

Is it on just one or more of them?

      Thank you, for quick reply
Don't worry about leaves, you can always make them in the future. Right now, you should make textures for snow trees

No, i didn't use any tree mods, only "Unbelievable Grass". Location? Sure I'll make a screenshot. It's located to north from "Pinewatch". And yes, this is only one tree, with that kind of seam. Weird.

The description could use some work.
Is this mod a retexture for trees or does it something in addition to make trees "better"?
What size do the new textures have?
A before-after comparison would be nice, too.

The first three pics look good, but the last one looks kind of weird.
Can't point the finger at what's wrong, though.

Thanks I added what I could to the description.

Will work on before / after shots

Yeah last one looks little odd I know I wasn't (am still not) great at taking skyrim meshes and working on the UV's
