These are great, and look awesome! Any chance you could do a standalone of the jian with an edited texture so it has a black blade? I ended up here after looking for a space sword that Sokka from TLA has.

If you don't know what you're talking about, don't say anything at all. The Miao Dao is a longsaber weapon used by some Chinese soldiers during China's Republican Era, and during the Second Sino-Japanese War. The origins of the weapon itself are dubious at best, either the miao dao was based off the Japanese Katana, or it was based of the Chang-Dao used in China's Tang Dynasty Era, which also through speculation might have been what the katana was based off of.
So no, they're not necessarily Katanas as you had so ignorantly claimed they are.
Very Nice! The textures look alright to me. Still, this is worth downloading based on the history about the swords alone. Totally Epic! I am too, a fan of these kinds of weapons. In Skyrim, there aren't enough, especially Chinese weaponry.
yeah I'm fair at modeling, I did the models from scratch in blender.
but textures, yeah I took a photo of a brass tea pot, and cut a square out and pulled it over the area for the guard and pomel of the Miao Dao, the blade is a metal door, and the handle is wood flooring
the Jian is the same except the guard and the handle, the wrap of the handle and the guard are photos of the real sword it's based off of, as is the scabbard black part and square pieace the scabbard red is wood flooring.
I think I took the skyrim texture ok and was able to pull it out over my UV-"RE"-unwrap, I'm getting batter at that.
either way compared to some of the other mods it's promissing I'll have to add more blades soon.
