Since there doesn't appear to be very much interest in this I am abandoning this project for the time being as I simply don't have the free time for what may require a lot of development effort to create a polished version of this mod. I may decide to work on this again when I have more free time or there happens to be a large enough number of people interested in this concept to convince me to change my priorities on other work.

What Is This?

This is a mod for Skyrim that will connect to an Android app which will allow you to equip and unequip armor and weapons in your inventory without using any hotkeys or bringing up a menu in your game. Right now this is more of a proof of concept for a framework that will allow SKSE plugins to communicate with an Android application. Because of this don't expect this to be a polished mod as it is rather basic and just meant to demonstrate what is possible. This has potential to add other types of functionality and possibly provide an interface other mods could use, but I thought I would get feedback from other people to see if there is much interest before taking things any further.

Please understand this since this is proof of concept it has potential for bugs and the user interface may not be the most intuitive to use. If you use this on a regular play through then that is great, but be aware your mileage may vary.

How To Install

• Install using your favorite mod manager.
• Inside your data folder there should be a subfolder named "apk" that contains the Android app. Copy this to your phone and install it.
• Start Skyrim and the Android app.
• Wait for the MCM menu to register and go into it. Set the IP address of your Android device on your local network and click enable.
• You should now see a list of weapons and armor in the Android app. You can tap individual items to equip or unequip them.
  

Frequently Asked Questions

Nobody has actually asked me these questions, but I figure these will be common questions that I should address.

Why isn't there an iOS app?

I don't own any Apple hardware and it is not worth it for me to spend lots of money on an Apple computer and mobile device just to develop and run this single application.

Why isn't the app on the Google Play Store?

When a new version of an app is uploaded it tends to push that new version out to devices automatically. If the new version is not compatible with the version of the SKSE plugin then things won't work. Many people get their game in a place and don't like to update mods during a play through so it is safer just to have people manually install and update the app. Makes it easier to keep everything in one ZIP file as well for downloading.

How come the user interface is so ugly?

This is just a proof of concept. Since I am not sure that many people may be interested in this I just spent my time putting together the basic functionality without worrying about how pretty things would look. I may see about improving things and implementing some sort of styling that is appropriate for Skyrim if I find the time.

How do I install the Android app?

There are too many varieties of Android devices out there that I can't answer that easily for you. A simple search on Google should find the answer for you.

Where do I find the IP address of my device?

Again, there are many ways of getting this depending on your device. Search online for help on how to do this. The important thing you need to make sure of is that you are using the IP address of the device on your local network and not the IP address used for your cellular data plan.

Permission

You can feel free to make translations, upload this to other sites, and generally share this with anyone you like without asking for permission so long as you don't try and make any money from this mod. I only ask that you make sure to give me credit for this work. You do not have permission to port this to Special Edition as this relies heavily on SKSE and I don't want to deal with complaints people may make about this not working due to the differences between the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of SKSE that someone else did not compensate for. You also do not have permission to use any part of this mod in your own mods without asking for permission first.
