Wow. I can't believe this mod is still getting attention after nearly six years. I'm glad so many people seem to like it.
Looking over the comments it looks like the problems most people are having are that they either a) want an SSE version, b) can't find the books, or c) don't like the limits of standard illusion spells. So, in honor of nearly six years and the many requests that have been made here, I'm not only finally porting this to SSE but I'm also adding an update that will hopefully solve most of these concerns. In the MCM you will now find a new menu option that lets you add the spells directly to your spell list if you can't/don't want to find the books. I'm also adding cheat versions of the spells that use no magicka and work on everyone possible. And in case you change your mind, I also added a way to remove the spells from your spell list. That would probably be useful if you're uninstalling the mod and want a clean spell list, as well.
I know you said that the other two tomes require some searching, but as someone who cant play for long periods of time, can you at least give a hint on where to find the second and third one?
Cone of Slumber: Your room in the Hall of Attainment at the College of Winterhold. Mass Somnolence: Valthume. If you've completed the Illusion Mastery quest, talking to Drevis can give you a quest to collect it.
can you make a version that knocks out a single person no strings attached? i can't believe a mod like i described still doesn't exist all these years...
These spells work just like the vanilla illusion spells, unless Bethesda has changed it recently. As far as I know, there has never been a percentage chance on any vanilla illusion spells. Putting points into Illusion perks will up the level caps, or you can get a perk mod like Ordinator if the vanilla perks aren't enough for you.
As much as I can appreciate the author not saying outright where the more powerful books are, I simply don't have the time anymore to hunting down riddles. So, I'm just gonna put this here because even though I found them before, 4 years later I forgot where I found it.
I looked far and wide and can't find the two books besides the most basic one. could anybody help me find them? oh, and thanks Mr. author for the amazing mod. It makes me enjoy vampire gameplay finally(with few other mods attached)
This would be exactly what I need if not for one thing... I'm already a level 50, so all the most important people I need these for are apparently immune... I really feel like the level cap should be higher. It seems silly for it to not work because my character is too strong.
Excatly! To me, this limitation makes these Spells completely useless. When your Char is a Master, he or she, should be able to cast these speels on every NPC - what ever Level they are.
I have tried both an unported, and self ported version and they seem to work just fine, without issue.
I usually port anyway, for those wondering how to self port- look up cathedral asset optimizer. If you are reading this, you can self port.
From what i can see though - all the spells are hard coded... so for example, if you want to tinker with them in TESedit so it hits undead - nope... removing the condition changed nothing.... want to change it so it doesnt matter if you are already in combat? nope.... cant seem to tinker with that either... So.. it appears to be the best option out there for spells, but if your wanting to put them into a a snowwhite lvl of slumber, not sure you can quite do this..
If you want the spells to affect undead (note they already do if you have the Master of the Mind perk) or to work in combat (note Mass Somnolence already does) that should be easy to change by removing a the relevant conditions from the various slsp_Sleep_Ray_Calm_Effect, slsp_Sleep_Cone_Calm_Effect, and slsp_Sleep_Area_Calm_Effect magic effects. I'm not sure why that wasn't working for you, as I already have examples of spells that do the things you want. Note also that draugr are not among the undead affected, so if you're trying on them that might explain why it didn't work: ghosts and vampires only.
As for "snowwhite lvl" sleep, that one probably really isn't possible. The sleep these spells creates is normal, vanilla sleep. The games doesn't have different levels of sleep. A paralysis effect would be the best you could do for something like that.
I'll try to get an official SSE version up soon, as I do have access to the SE creation kit now. But, as many people have said, this version does work fine in SSE.
Just want to say that I came looking for an SSE version as well, and that this mod is one of my favourite spell mods by far. It makes no sense to me that high-powered illusionists can't induce sleep normally in game. Massively well done on this, theecatt. :D

So there you go. Enjoy the new version. The SSE version can be found here.

Currently it makes the mod basically useless past a certain point.
At the very least, either Mass Somnolence should have no level cap or a fourth spell, a Sleep Ray without level cap, should be added.

I can confirm it seems to work just fine in SSE.
