great little mod! thanks for sharing it! i have a question: is there any chance you can make a similar mod to this where when you start turning the lock it will turn slower?
Great mod, thanks. I'm definitely going to use it - the fact it's just a SKSE plugin helps a lot (246 esps now :-D)
It would be also interesting if it could decrease speed as your Lockpicking (or Dexterity in PerMa) increases, indicating that as you train you get much steadier hands. Probably with increasing the initial speed... It would need some balancing though.
Thanks for your feedback. Yep, esp count is always a concern for me as well (245 after merging), though in this case I simply wouldn't have known any way to do this in the CK. You bring up a very interesting idea. I will definitely look into it (this may take a little, I will also have to look up exactly how PerMa and possibly other mods use the existing actor values).
@MisterB1969, padawanjedi, archerarcher: Thank you for the kind words and endorsments!
Edit: I have added version 2 with the new functionality included. For quick testing you can use e.g. player.SetAV Lockpicking 100 (PerMa: Pickpocket; remember to keep your save from before changing your skills). Let me know if you have any issues.
If you have that many plugins I suggest using the SKSE Preloader, especially for ANY mods containing DLL files for SKSE mods. It is invaluable assistance when playing and helps speed up initial load times.
You simply add 2 text based additions to the SKSE/Plugins folder - one called WhateverMod_preload.txt - the _preload.txt helps initialize and load the dll files early before the main game loads.
The other one is a simple choice whether to do so and it is a WhateverMod.ini - The .INI file allows you to troubleshoot if need be. Plus the log files always tell you if the file initialized and loaded correctly too. Those are either located in your regular Games folder or in the Main Skyrim installation folder.
See if this works with your larger load orders.
Thank you underthesky. This is a welcome mod and much needed addition overall to Skyrim.
