Downloading and installing now, will come back after some testing, but if this works, this will be so nice. Didn't mind seeing the Afflicted Refugees sometimes, but when the encounter overtakes almost every other event around the map.
Edit: Early impressions look good. Traveling down the road, I got the farmer and the cow and M'aiq when one or both of those probably would have been the Afflicted without this fix. Many thanks for it. Shame that the Timing is Everything mod never got the correction itself.
Okay, I'm putting this mod in, because I am sick of the Afflicted wandering all over Skyrim, and I never realized they were caused by Timing is Everything!
Like many others, I thought this was a classic Bethesda "Do! This! Quest! NOW!" tactic, and have been killing the Afflicted after about the fifth one. (And seeing as I have Skyrim Reputation installed, that's not helping my reputation, either...)
I must have had an older version of TiE on my desktop, because I never had that problem before. Then I installed Skyrim on my laptop, loaded up a small mod list, and I've had the walking, two-legged, puking skeevers all over my Skyrim. Now I know where it came from, hopefully this either fixes it or reduces the number of them I see.
Has anyone run the game for long periods with this on? I am not worried about its stability, just that it doesnt actually flag the variable to Run Once, instead sets the condition to a quest setting as less than one, which should work fine unless the quest for some reason gets set back to zero, so I just thought I would ask if anyone has run it for a while and seen more than one afflicted still appear over time?
Either way nice find and nice fix, I didn't think anything of the repeated afflicted encounters at first, I thought there were just lots of afflicted about lol.
The removal of the Run Once flag is literally just an Unofficial Patch forward (as is the condition change). Apparently the Run Once flag wasn't working properly in that record, so it USSEP instead makes it so as the event is disabled cancelled when you get any stage of the intro quest. The intro quest it uses (Da13Intro [QUST:000BEDEC]) is, itself, flagged as Run Once, so that should be taken care of.
This patch could basically be called "Timing Is Everything-USLEEP Update".
Ok so how do i install this? Im using NMM. and it asks if i want to upgrade it witch will replace original mod. or not upgrade it witch will make me have a second .esp for Timing is everything.
This was literally the #1 thing (and maybe the ONLY thing) bothering me about the timing is everything mod. Hopefully after I override it with this mod everything in the world will be right again
yeah i put the changes into a fix plugin of mine. but i'm curious,...i went up to the afflicted guy that perpetually stands next to the Markarth entrance and talked w/ him. he gave me the quest dialog again (i've had the quest for quite awhile already), but he did not walk away. i then disabled/ enabled him, expecting him to NOT reappear because of this mod's fix,,, but he did. i then recycleactor, then disable/enable...and he still reappeared! so i'm not sure this fix is working

I always wondered why that Quest never reached its Shut Down Stage (Stage Index 255) and never suspected a failed Run Once.
Although, thinking about it, I 'should' have expected it - lol
Thanks for sharing
