So the idea is to duplicate the ice mesh, scale it up a bit add refraction and use the normal as a diffuse ? Or is there more needed to make it work ?

Man all 4 of your mods for LE are goddamn masterpieces. Seriously I mean it's topnotch work with the textures and meshes in your parallax forts mod and this one. Improved my game's look a lot. I wanna ask tho, what's that absolutely gorgeous ENB that you use in your screenshots? I badly need to change my current ENB and it seems that the one that you're using will satiate my ultra level bloom needs XD. Hoping for a quick reply. Thanks!

I think if you optimize the meshes with nif optimizer it should be fine

First off: this is lovely. I agree the transparent mesh could be a bit more closely fitted to the normal mesh, but the overall effect is still great.

I was wondering if you had any plans to apply this treatment to the ice in the Forgotten Vale from the Dawnguard DLC? It looks so ugly and flat now next to this fancy ice.

There's a bunch of ginormous icicle structures, as well as some frozen lakes and ponds. Would look awesome with a bit of TLC!

Dear GaiusFatCat, I hope you still active on this mod tho. Btw, does your mod compatible with Real Glaciers mod? - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/5628

Yup, still here, open to any suggestions and planning redoing everything, among my other projects. ^^ Yes this should work with Real Glaciers tho I haven't tried it before. This mod only changes the meshes and any basic retexture mod which only changes the textures should be compatible.

I might, on a "newer update" do all of the meshes all over again a lot more close fit this time, cause I didn't do such a well job and I've realised it, so clipping in places and stuff cause the "transparent mesh" is so large over the normal mesh, clips. Also If I'd redo it handmade I could get the mesh much closer to the surface, wouldn't be that bad looking up close anymore I guess.. :-p and it's fairly easy job now, I was just a newbie modder when I did this and I still are but, at least now I have a lot more experience. ^^

I don't know how exactly this looks in LE, but ported to SSE looks amazing in long distance... and terrible in close distance.
It's like you have... transparent ice-mountains, not reflecting ones.
