    Sticky
I'm really sorry that I didn't release an update for ages, but unfortunately I can't work on this tool right now though, I really would like to fix some stuff some people mentioned here, but I have no time

You should at least make a sticky list of all the issues you / the users have noticed. It's too useful of a tool to not use but we need a cohesive list of what doesn't work. A list of the actual variables that correspond to your options would be extremely helpful too :O

I actually had planed that in the next version the affected keys will be displayed in the tool-tips.
How do I make a sticky list anyhow? Or do you mean I should update the tool descritption to list the broken stuff?
As I know so far the following stuff seems to have issues:
-save-game profile manager seems to overwrite the savepath when it shouldn't
-exporting is broken since the last update
-intro setting doesn't have an effect for some people(I honestly don't know why yet)
-for some people changes in settings don't take effect(apparently win8 users are affected, I have no w8 so I can't see where skyrim gets its configs from, help would be appreciated)
-comments appended to key-value lines are read wrong(didn't have comments in mind when I implemented the ini parser, gotta re-write that now :-/)

I think that's it so far, I already fixed #2 and I think I drop the whole save-game profile managing stuff, there are far better programs out there for that.

Sorry, I meant 'make a list in a sticky post'; like the red-outlined posts that perpetually stay at the top of a mod author's thread. More heavily-endorsed mods typically have them to curb the floods of comments asking the same questions.

      In Windows 8 the skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini are located in C:/Users/"user"/My Documents/my games/Skyrim

The other main reason sConfigator Has No Effect for some people is they probably use Mod Organizer. Like I did. Mod Organizer uses it's own copies of the inis in it's profile folder. By doing so it avoids issues of your settings being overritten by the game, but, also, breaks configator unless you point it at the proper files.

As well, anyone with a 4K display will not be able to use this tool (to the best of my knowledge - I'd love to be wrong regarding this...).

      EDIT:

WRONG. I was incorrect in this statement - see my other post for instructions to use this great tool with a 4K display. :-D

I dropped the zip folder into Vortex, it downloaded a copy of it. Once it was installed I enabled it then deleted the original zipped folder in downloads since vortex already copied it. Everything is fine on that end (In vortex, the mod is clean no warnings or anything) In game there aren't any bugs or any changes whatsoever in fact my fps got better just from installing this. whats odd though is that there is no menu anywhere to be found its as if the only sign of the mods existence is it's name in Vortex's Mods.

What I'm trying to ask is, how do I get to those menus in the screenshots? Naturally I assumed they would be under Options because of their appearance, but they weren't. So I went in game to check MCM, wasn't there either.

BTW this is a side question but, once I'm done transferring all my mods from NMM to Vortex, can I delete NMM?

I'm not sure why, but the configurator isn't working for me. Does anybody know a solution for this? It's in the same place as SkyrimPrefs. I'm so lost.

Hello .. Looking over the comments it seems to be more about bad things than good things.
I'd just like to say thank you for this tool. It is more than wonderful and has served me well for many years.

I was at one point going to make something just like this but after seeing yours there was no need to. Great job!

Hello pfannkuchen_gesicht and Skyrim Community. I hope this message finds you well.

I am wondering if there is anyone who could help me to find usability with this amazing tool. Unfortunately, since upgrading to a 4K monitor, this program is rendered useless - it is a crumpled heap that cannot be worked with. I love this tool, but can't get it working. Please help if you are reading this and know of a solution.

    Thank you for your time.

    EDIT:

I am very pleased to share with you the fact that you can, in fact, use this great tool with a 4K display (this post is for those, like myself, who were not aware of this).

To do so, here is what I did:

1 - Make a custom shortcut to the executable.

2 - Right click on your new shortcut and select "Properties".

3 - Click on the "Compatibility" tab.

4 - Under the "Compatibility Mode" section, make sure that the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" box is checked.

5 - Under the "Compatibility Mode" section, select "Windows XP (Service Pack 3)" from the drop down menu.

6 - Under the "Settings" section, check the "Override high DPI scaling behavior." box.

7 - Under the "Settings" section, select "System" from the drop down menu.

8a - (OPTIONAL) Click the "Shortcut" tab.

8b - (OPTIONAL) Click the "Advanced..." option.

8c - (OPTIONAL) Check the "Run as administrator" box.

    8d - (OPTIONAL) Click "OK".

9 - Click "Apply", then click "OK". (you may be prompted for permission to do this, depending on your rig's mood and the weather).

Done. Enjoy! I hope this helped.

This thing is awesome. It works for me and I'm an idiot. I tried EVERYTHING to get rid of those vanilla blocky shadows and this configurator thing finally did it. Lots of tweaking but I'm there. Shadows look perfect now. THANK YOU!!!!!
