    How do you make a game bigger than Daggerfall? You recreate Daggerfall in to Skyrim.

      Second. Every time you see asked around "it could be made a remake of daggerfall for skyrim" the answer is always "impossible, becouse of the randomly generated areas blah blah" of course it will not be the same, we're talking about a game of almost another generation... But i think even doing what is it possible would generate something very cool. And besides, i think most of us has probably played with Morrowind and Oblivion, but not with the first two chapters. I, for istance, haven't even ever seen them lol

      I actually have a Project of mine that is Recreating all of Hammerfell and High Rock, Although it's in the Oblivion Engine until it's ready to be ported to Skyrim. The landmass for everything is there along with Proper Maps, just a matter of getting a Team together.

      My ability as modder is limited to port models and alike, especially armors or enitre bodies... So i can help with that, but on navmeshing i pretty suck. The best result i got until now on navmeshing has been putting a throne inside Severin manor lol xD

      I would love to do so as well. Although, I'd be better at the NPCs than at actually placing everything.

    @harveh I would love to see a scaled-down port of Daggerfall's Main Quest in Skyrim's Engine. I currently work on Skywind, which is a massive undertaking, has been in development for many years, and will take a while longer to see release. We all know Daggerfall cannot be ported completely, with its size and randomly generated features, but does it need to be? The Main Quest could be done with this map. Force the player to one specific town and one specific tavern to meet Lady B. Focus on the necessary locations, and complete what is necessary for the Main Quest, and then other guilds and side quests could be added later, sort of like dlc, if anyone has the desire/energy/skill. I'm certain there is room on TESRenewal for a Skyggerfall, but, for goodness sake, limit the scope so that the release sees the light of day, and is not vaporware! If we could start a project like that, I'd be happy to contribute! What do you say?
     


    A Scaled down, smaller version is exactly what i was thinking! We could do away with the procedural gen part of things and make it smaller, we would need a dedicated team, but I would happily work on this!

      TES 2 Daggerfall was actually randomly generated terrain and most of the location. But if you want to help with a Province Mod, I am creating a mod called Hammerfell: Shadows of the Alik'r.

      I definitely think that someone should consider starting this project. It obviously wouldn't be an exact recreation of the original daggerfall but it would be a pretty good modern rendition of it. We have a heightmap, all we need is models, textures, voice actor, etc...

    is this the same size as the original game?

      No, The original Daggerfall was randomly generated so it's impossible to know what the landscape was.

      This heightmap is the most accurate in terms of Lore and Scale, It is bigger then Skyrim Map and so far it's the only one available as a modders resource

      For making LOD have you used Oscape?
