Thank you so so much, I know it's an old mod but I've been looking for this for years now. It's the only simple house I could find for the Riverwood form "Expanded towns and cities" (fantastic mod, one of my absolute fav). I'm so happy ! Great work o/
I've been looking for ages for just a small lore friendly starter home! I'll get a better house eventually with all the bells and whistles but for now I just wanna RP living here in Alvor's/ Gurder's guest house.
Luv it!
I tried both versions. The original home is VERY bright, yes. I use mods that increase light brightness as well as a second that makes interior locations darker. Personally, I don't mind it so much. I can have a location that will show me what the noon sun looks like with no shadows for character beautification and such.
The newer version was okay but I just could not accept that the build COULD have a basement. Looking at the landscape and seeing how its already on the edge of the land next to a river no mason would put a basement that close to a river. As far as the light goes, its much better and in line with traditional Skyrim lighting. I was shocked to see you had not included one bookshelf in the bigger version.
I did notice the 'porch' was rather empty. Suggestions? Maybe add a chair on one side and something else on the other side...a pair of barrels or pile of static firewood might give it that little bit of extra attention. If I were making the home I would also include a torch scone by the door so a player can add light to the porch if they wanted it. Besides an empty porch area and no light this mod is just PERFECT for a nice RP lore friendly starter home. Riverwood is my favorite village.
For my needs I will be sticking with the original version. Would you be willing to fix the light settings? Even as is I am very happy with this mod. I shall endorse when I am able.
The only problem I had with this house.....inside is too bright. You should dim the lights a bit to go with other buildings. It's a nice starter poor house though which is what I was looking for except all the brightness inside. I will use this if you make a darker inside version. =)
Definitely endorsed. The only thing I have to really say is bad about this is that the house is in the pathing of Gerdur and Hod when they come to speak with Ralof if you followed him out of Helgen rather than Havdar. They still go through their speech prompts, but Hod gets stuck on the firewood and Gerdur takes a few moments to get near where she has to be to talk. Not a huge deal, and certainly a one time problem! Very nice little house otherwise. A fireplace upstairs might make it a bit more cozy, but it's pretty much the sort of house I was looking for. Simple and clean and not over powered for a free home.
