This release addresses many missing features, bugs, and improvements. There's even weight slider support for all you thicc vampires. It's safe to update on existing saves, but there are some changes to be aware of:
There are now standard craftable armor sets with no bonus effects, and legendary versions that confer a bonus when all pieces are worn.
Any previously crafted armor will no longer receive the set bonus - only the legendary sets have the scripted effects. You must visit Volkihar Cathedral after confronting Harkon (the quest Kindred Judgment). There will be a chest behind the Molag Bal altar containing the Legendary Volkihar Knight armor (both heavy ands light). If you've previously completed Kindred Judgement the chest will still appear. Legendary armor is unique, you only get one of each piece, they aren't craftable. They're still enchantable and can be upgraded at workbenches though.
Light armor is now included in the main plugin, so you no longer need a patch. If you had the light armor patch installed, your armor will change to heavy armor. You will have to craft the armor again, or get the legendary set from the chest.
Specific mod patches are no longer needed. I made changes to the Abysswalker effect so that it should now be compatible with all vampire overhauls.
Be sure to check out the changelog for a full list of changes.
For other mod authors, or anyone interested in digging through source files, the mod is now open source on GitHub. The repo contains all the source 3ds max files for the meshes, psds for the textures, and psc files for the scripts. I'll happily accept pull requests if anyone wants to make improvements. This has always been my favorite vampire armor in terms of aesthetics, and no matter how many re-textures I've looked at, I still prefer the original look. My only gripe with the mod is the fact that it added enchantments, and scripted spell effects that broke certain vampire mods I've used, and caused a the character's eyes to go missing in certain situations. I understand this was fixed in the SSE version of this mod, but the LE version never got more updates.
I made a non-scripted, non-magic effect, no quest version of this mod for myself, and before I post it here on the nexus, I wanted to make sure you didn't mind. You will obviously be credited as the original author of the mod. All I have changed is the main .esp file to remove all scripts, effects, and quests associated with the armor.
Absolutely my favorite armor in the game, hands down. I do substitute the hood with Black Mage Armor mantled hood, but that is so I can use circlets as well as the Black Mage Mask. I also use Black Mage Armor plate boots, as I do not care for the pointy toed boots. Truly phenomenal work, and thank you.
the only annoyance I have is that the hood always features a red line (which doesn't fit the black and blue versions) and that the Legendary versions only apply the enchantments if you wear the full set. I personally like to not use head gear and would also like to switch out the boots for a different set, but I lose the enchantment then.
if anyone knows how to edit the files to "unlink" the enchantment (so the effects work with the chestpiece only) I'd love to know!
Now i can make my argonian look like an indenpendent Vampire hunter, that armor makes him look like amazing, but i still dont know what the heck is that symbol on their armor, i guess its about Molag right?
I'm getting CTD's on startup, I see that others have had this issue as well. I know the author mentioned that it might be a load order issue, but I use LOOT for mod order so I can't necessarily pinpoint what the issue is. Has anyone figured this problem out yet?
