    I guess it's about time I used the fuller potential of some more of these tools made available to me, SSEEdit comes to mind . Like for Mod Organizer 2, which now has an update waiting for me. Wanted to restart my game that I hadn't played on for a few weeks firstly to make this update happen more quickly.

    Edit - Update - Skill-Training looks good on my side

    As I was testing the new updates for these 2 followers in LE, I reloaded my last save at level 9. I had both Katriss_follower.esp & Kayseey_follower.esp on that save, but since I had loaded that save with Kay-Kat_Kayseey-Katriss_LE.esp active instead, my followers were officialy missing of course.

    I thought this was a good opportunity to test that ESP although I knew I had to go find them again & rehire them. I did that by going to their home location, first inside Old Hroldan Inn, sitting on a chair, I found Katriss, hired her & upon later conversation asked her to train me.


    She did, my bar filled up, all I needed was to use that skill myself once more & my Alteration skill went up a level as required. Next I went to find KC in Ivarstead near the Sawmill, hired her, asked her to train me in Block, my skill bar filled up, found a bear, kept him at bay with my shield once to block its attack & my Block skill rose by a level.

    All is well with the training for Skyrim LE. My next test was to load that same last save as mentioned, level 9. This time I used Katriss_follower.espKayseey_follower.esp and sure enough both Kay & Kat were with me since that's the way I had saved, with them in tow.


    I took advantage this time to go visit Keeper Carcette at the Hall of the Vigilant. I asked her to train me in Restoration & my skill bar filled up. I asked Katriss to train me in Alteration & my skill bar was filled too. Kayseey was asked to train me in Block afterward & she also filled up that skill bar.

    Once I reached level 10, I asked KC to train me again. This time without leaving the skill-training menu I asked her to train me 3 times in a row. My skill bar kept filling up each time I paid & the official notice of skill increase also chimed in. There really seems to be no problems in training anymore with these 2 followers, and Restoration training successfully passed the test so that any conflict with Restoration Skill Trainers in-game, such as Carcette, seem to be a thing of the past.     An update is coming for Kayseey, should be out within a week. It will be in OMOD format for easy install of all options, hair, eyes, 3 body types for CBBE & 3 body types for UNP too.

    It will include both my followers as options for install, Katriss also. Option in OMOD to install either or both followers at same time. One .esp either way.

    This LE OMOD for version 1.29  will also include an option to install the follower(s) with a more modest impact on ram for systems with lower specs. That's an option not included for the SE version of the OMOD I recently uploaded.

    There will be 3 OMOD's really. One for CBBE options only, one for UNP options only, and a third will include it all.

      * Done - OMOD for Legendary edition of Skyrim officially uploaded today. Thanks to more testing, this time through LE Creation-Kit & game-play, through summoning with scrolls and recruiting normally this latest update is thankfully due to the LE version.

      * Katriss was showing signs of being a little difficult to port back from SE to LE.
      Yes I saw this Atronach magical visual effect pop up once, twice in SE but it dissipated always, or never reappeared. Thing is the LE tests showed me that this magical effect was annoyingly a bit more distracting & way too frequent. (I hadn't played in more than a year)

      It was a Perk whose magical effect would for some reason appear as a kind of swirl centered on Katriss and blurring in a vortes like manner 75% or more of her body. Lit blue sprites I guess accompanied this effect. So this Perk (Atronach) was removed from her entirely in this last update.

      I thought it might have been the Lightning Cloak causing this effect. Kayseey has a Frost Cloak she uses. These Cloak spells they use act as protection, so the effect has them glow a bit for 30 seconds, 35 seconds for Katriss.


      * Using scrolls to summon them Katriss was difficult again since she shows up naked when a scroll is used to summon her for that very first time. KC is clothed when using her summon scroll.

      As soon as Katriss accepts to follow you she'll decide on one of her own outfits to wear & put some clothes back on. You can ask to see her outfits & pick one for her yourself after that. If Katriss showing up naked is a problem for you don't use her scroll, just head down to Old Hroldan Inn to find her instead.


      * I created an option when you speak with them for you to Change Kat's Outfit, Change KC's Outfit. If they have trouble wearing stuff you give them then try this. Use the Redguard option in their outfits, they'll forego their default Redguard then wear what you give them.

      Katriss will grant you access to her outfits right away but to start the quest for Katriss level 8 minimum is required. Kayseey's quest may begin anytime but Kayseey will want you to complete begin her quest first before you can choose to change her outfits.

      * I left it up to you, the player, to handle what they wear & when they wear it. So truly if preparedness is necessary for some prolonged dangerous activity it's up to you, the player, to see to it that your follower is ready. Give them armor, or let them use their own armor in their Outfit options. They do not equip their armor whenever they want.

    I use IMAGINATOR to add different kinds of colouring in my playthrough.
    It's easy to use, simple to tweak and has many quick options for variety.

    If you've downloaded any of the 3 OMOD files for either of my two followers, Kayseey above or her cousin Katriss, the files are identical.

    You can grab any of the 3 OMOD files from either of these 2 Elfish women followers. They are one & the same. (helps to know)

    What are all these scripts for? The next pronounced update is a esp. It's then without scripts? I am little unsure to install brand new scripted followers.

      Most scripts are for dialogue, with change of clothes etc. There is also the quest script, a script for map-marker, a summon script, another for keeping track of Warlock-Thief and KC's book. I mainly used creationkit-dot-com for proper scripting management and other necessities.

      The last time KC had an update was within the .esp only, not the scripts. The scripts haven't changed since Dec-02-2016. I don't plan on changing them either. I probably know somewhat how you feel about scripts since I'm reticent about them too. But that was the best way I could have Kayseey change clothing easily, and since I decided to use scripts I also decided to make it more worth while to have them by adding a small quest to go along with her. It may look like there are a lot of them but most are for dialogue like I said.

      I am willing to share my scripts with you modders out there. If it may help you, or it may help me too. If anyone request then I will .zip Kayseey's source scripts and make them available to you. Thanks for caring enough to comment saftladen1111, I hope my reply gives you some comforting answers.

      I installed her, tempted by the pcitures.

      She indeed looks ingame as cute as the pictures promised, even better.

      The scripted clothing option offers indeed a comfortable way to change the clothes. However, i think nonetheless that that is not so much more comfortable than opening her inventory and taking/putting clothes in and out that it deserves extra scripted solution. Matter of taste.

      On the other hand at least it does not mess up with that normal method and most of the choseable clothes/armor is in my opinion nice and usefull, so i can get over it.

      The quest has a bug? After accepting the search for the warlock in ivarstedt the search for the warlock immediatly finished itself without searching for him. So only the killing and picking up of the spell tome was to do.

      I think that a spelltome for her and the option to choose clothings is not an exiting reward for doing the quest, also the quest itself is not exciting or special. Since you can script a quest, why don't make a more interesting one for her?

      Regaring things to scripts> A thing I always admire, is the MC opinion to change the followers fighting behavoir... archer or magican or swordfighter etc... that is really valuable.

      She is good looking and natural, charismatic, fits really nicely into skyrim world. Endorsed! Thank you for sharing her.

      btw. So far i have seen compatible with EFF and MyHomeIsYourHome.

      Thanks a bunch for your input, it really helps me to see things more globally. I do think her quest is mostly trivial - but it was a first. The warlock thing you noticed isn't a bug, rather a quirk. It shows where to begin the quest and therefore the location of the warlock too so in essence a two for one. I felt odd about that too when I was implementing it.

      I myself agree that an option to change fighting behavior for a follower can be useful to have. I always liked the idea. Something I would be interested to look into, eventually. The main reason I created my two followers Kayseey and Katriss was to celebrate the anniversary and launch of Skyrim SE. Now I still need to prepare them for that SE version of the game. I will seriously consider your input when the time for that does come. I am still in preparation mode for modding with SE; but once a modding project begins there's always some fun to be had in seeing it through. I am modding right now, a mash-up of a couple handfuls of follower mods using Merge Plugins utility; am in the creation kit overseeing any adjustments I think needs my attention before testing in game.

      If you think of something else that may be of interest for the SE update of this mod (probably won't be completed until this summer...) just decipher the alphabet again into small groups of words that I can read!!!

      I am not a skyrim mod creater (though I mod other games). In generell I like to be surprised about what the modders here create. The sheer mass of followers and compagnions on nxeus garantuees fun for anybodies taste. In very rare cases I change some values with TESS5edit for myself.

      I just would be happy, if you continue for the "old" version of Skyrim in addition of the SE Version.

      (I have a heavy modded Skyrim specifically designed for my mashine, now in a very late game, the foreseeable trouble to migrate to SE is not my plan, maybe only when I may get another mashine. I am sure others hesitate to migrate for some time therefore too.)

    She looks awesome. Is she compatible with Amazing Follower Tweaks (AFT). That would be my preferred way of assigning her outfits and changing her clothing. Thanks for sharing this beauty with us!

      Kayseey is compatible with Amazing Follower Tweaks by Dheuster and lets not forget Amazing Follower Tweaks - Immersive Dialogue I personally use both myself.

      great to hear. sometimes tho, followers w/ AI can be tricky yo use w/ AFT. should she load above or below aft? thnx

      As it stands in my current load order from within Mod Organizer, and using the LOOT software to sort the mods with the sort button included in Mod Organizer the present order of my mods has AFT above this mod.

    An update should be out within a week for Kayseey. A new Pure-Skin will be made available for her body. This should make any neck and body seams less prominent. A few spells like Raise Zombie, Firebolt and Close Wounds may be added too. Her Perks list was cemented and should be running properly now if they weren't before. Prerequisites were initially overlooked such as Overdraw, Eagle Eye and Stealth.

    She will now also enjoy all the perks associated with a true Block master. From Shield Wall to Elemental Protection to Disarming Bash to Shield Charge. New Augmented Shock, Frost, and Flames, magic Casting perks and Avoid Death. It may seem like a bit much but really when someone is a master in some way or other they do also benefit from the growing list of skills which come from years of training...

    Only one .esp should be needed with the upcoming update which means choosing hair colour should be made much simpler. The .NIF facegendata overrides the colour used.

    Updated to v109 then later to v109A where the hair clipping through hoods and helmets was solved. See Description page for the relative changes to these updates if you want more details. Thanks for playing with Kayseey and for your patience through these updates.

    All files in the Optional Files section should work with versions 109 and 109A such as the mesh sizes and eyes too.

    All optional files are backward compatible, v109 and 109A just so you know. Same is true for forward compatibility.

    My reason for uploading a second type of skin texture is simple.
    The pure-skin textures only come in one size, curvy. They looked acceptable when I was creating UNP meshes in different sizes to go along with them. Sadly they didn't look so good for the CBBE smaller size meshes I later created so an alternative was needed. Fair-skin textures do come in different body sizes and the head textures of both of these is fairly similar so KC should not look much different in either case.

    Thank you for this mod, endorsed. Really like the perky look, with chestnut hair, kind of a girl next door look. The outfit change is a nice touch. Hope to see more follower work from you.

    Very nice, not too talkative! given the right equipment she can kill with the best of them! Interesting perks! I don't think anyone else trains in block! Nice all round follower!

      I had the opportunity to tackle a few of my gripes while creating this mod. For whatever reason (Complete Crafting Overhaul Remade 49791) I usually get my fair share of firewood, even when I mine for (oar) ore, I know the second is the right one but I left it in, I caught my mistake after a few days and carrying around 30+ firewood around uselessly can get heavy and take up precious loot space in the inventory. KC will give me a few coins whenever I sell it to her now, problem solved $$$.

      To tell you the truth I was surprised the first time I asked KC to train me in Block. I thought something might be wrong but she knew better than me after all; I was actually at that level myself where she didn't have anything else to teach me. D'Oh ! Just so you know the 2 other Block Trainers are Chief Larak the Orc warrior and chieftain of the Mor Khazgur Orc stronghold - and Njada Stonearm a Nord warrior and member of the Companions who lives in Jorrvaskr in Whiterun.

      I had a follower lost in between worlds once and the best thing I could do at the time was teleport to them which is how I found out they were in neverland. If KC ever got stuck there I'm glad to know I can summon her out of it with her summon spell. One of the last things I did in this mod was to place a few Torches in her inventory - but they showed up as invisible in game, she was holding an invisible object so that's how easy it is to mess up a mod. She has none now.

      Thanks for your comment georgejbps, I appreciate your input and agree with what you said. To be fair I purposefully stayed away from giving her more than one armor. Clothing and variety may be nice to look at and wear but offers near no protection at all in a fight. That's totally intentional on my part. I'm practically begging players out there who have KC as a follower to equip her with their own choices of armor instead of the default Blades option. Be forewarned everybody, if KC wears anything from her default choices but the Blades armor while she is in battle she will and may very well get seriously injured.
