NOTE: Sorry for ending Support so quickly guys and gals. This just wasn't going as far as I hoped it would, and I lost motivation to keep this up to date. As in the description, if you would like to have future updates, please move to the Skyrim Special Edition version.
Welcome to the comments!
Post any questions, suggestions, and issues you're having, and I will help accordingly.
Have a good day!
NOTE: Frostfall and Apocalypse -Magic of Skyrim are NOT REQUIRED to use this mod. The requirements that popup are for best use of this mod.
Just use the installer and it will automatically select the relative addons for whatever you have installed AND activated.
so this mod is great, but i was looking for the ``Gravisphere`` scroll` to be turned into spell. i know i know the original version has no spell... but i really want a spell.
I haven't really heard anyone having any problems with it, did you check all the rooms? Obvious question, I know. Sometimes he ends up in random places. I have seen him in the upstairs room before, and in the back area, so check the entire building..
If that doesn't work., maybe go out of Whiterun (not just the bannered mare, just to be sure) and give a couple of in game days to spawn.
If he still doesn't appear for you, then try uninstalling, re-downloading (in case something weird happened during download) and reactivate. If all that doesn't help, let me know.
Like the idea - from the ol' D&D (original 2nd Edition, non-computer, non board game), Read Magic and Write Magic were pretty basic, so this just seems sensible. However, why the Frostfall dependency ? I hate that idea and so won't use anything requiring its installation. Why ? Firstly, if you played TES III Morrowind (not the recent MMORPG addon) when you went to Solstheim (for instance, the quest to find out what happened to the Patchwork Airship and recover the Amulet of Infectious Charm for Louis Beauchamp, near Ald'Ruhn Mages Guild) you would have found the local Nords (very aggressive) run around in the ice and snow with ZERO clothes on and only their weapons, with NO ill-effects whatever. And (2) also just from my personal preference to play Skyrim as an adventure game not at a survival-horror game (though that would also make sense, especially if you've read the Conan stories, 'The Phoenix on the Sword' for instance, where he is imprisoned underground in an ancient mages experimental 'lab' (so to speak)..., and some of Lovecraft's stories, 'The Quest for Unknown Kadath' (a very long short story) for instance (if you haven't read it, google it, you should be able to read it online). (And I just wonder if the Seven Thousand Steps is also a nod to Lovecraft's 'the seventy steps of light slumber to the cavern of flame and the seven hundred steps to the Gate of Deeper Slumber' ). - in which case, those wells with the wooden staircases going down in so many dungeons, would be regarded with great trepidation, to be explored only by the bravest, or already well-corrupted, of souls.. (would also need a mod that removes all the interior lighting and required torches everywhere, etc) But I choose not to play that way. Any chance of removing that Frostfall dependency ? ADDIT: (15Apr2018): Wow nice fast answer, unfortunately didn't find it til just now. Thanks so much for that advice (that Frostfall is NOT required). Now adding to my MO mods list! Cheers !
I have had no problems with this mod, great for getting those rare scrolls you find into useable spells - Gives my mages that little extra I need in combat (im using many mods to make the game harder) - Thanks
Hello. I like this idea. I always check my mods for errors in TES5EDIT and this mod is popping up with a lot of errors in the Legendary and Apocalypse ESP files. Could you tell us about these? Thanks. Pic:
It looks to me that most of those errors are scrolls that don't have magic effects on them.
I will look at them right now and see what I can come up with. I know that I have been having issues with spell effects not staying on scrolls. I have fixed this is issue and will upload it soon, just need to finish my travelling merchant.
Thank you for telling me!
EDIT: You'll be happy to know that I just cleaned my mod (Legendary) and am down to only three small errors which apparently have to do with a script I never attached. Will look into that
EDIT 2: Apparently there was a script attached to the table in Dragonsreach, and it has been removed. There are no longer errors for me. I will upload a fixed version of both mods as soon as possible
Once I figure out what I want the model to look like, and also everything else that comes with making a new model, I will upload it.
I started on an extremely simple model, but I want something better. I need to realize that if I want it to look good, I have to actually take my time on it.
Looking at the screenshots you put up most of the tables aren't blending in well with their surroundings. Using the regular enchanting tables would be better. The mod CACO, for example, has two modes for achemy labs and you can choose one via dialog box which pops up when activating the alchemy lab. Doing something similar would remove the need to clutter the world with more crafting stations.
That sounds like a god idea, but I was going to go a different route. I will attempt your idea first, but I am not very good with scripting and need to figure everything out with that.
I was actually planning on creating my own model for the tables. If I create this model, I will move the tables to a better location to hopefully blend in better. I understand this requires more work on my end, but I thought it would be fun to try.
Since I can't merge anything on the old crappy lappy could someone please put up a Legendary edition version? Other than that it's a great idea. Hope you made a requirement for a quill, blank book and I THINK the game has ink in it. That or add a crafting at the forge with water and charcoal since they are probably vanilla assets. I'm sure ya'll can think of something.
Yer welcome. It was the grandkids ideo. Anything to keep me out of their hair. The game has come a looong way since the begining. There's even assult rifles, sniper rifles n shotguns now. (Thought for gunpowder too... fire salts and charcoal) hah.

Since it is the same as the enchanting table people might get confused.

Curse my laziness!
