Fellow modders, do any of you know if there's any similar plugin for Blender? Bodyslide export .fbx is messed up in Blender, as Blender weakly supports fbx, comparing with 3ds Max.

    Can confirm:

    - "On demand" plugin from misc files works with 3ds max 2021, but not on 2022 onwards.
    - N.B. this version exports .Nif formats for Skyrim (Oldrim/LE) only, and not for SSE/SAE. - i.e. the SSE export format only seems to be an option for https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/84041, and this only works with versions up until 2018 it would seem. Ofc you could use nif optimiser https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/4089 to convert for SSE if needed.

I'm assuming that no further updates to the 3ds max niftools plugin will be forthcoming given it's now late 2023 - but worth noting that Autodesk only supports 3ds max 2021-2024 now, so as soon as max 2021 drops out of support, people who have education access, for example, could be left behind.

tried this on 3dsMax 2020 using the "3Ds Max 2020 - On demand snapshot"

and it seems stable.    I've exported static props & Skinned Clothing and hair out as NIF file formats for Fallout 4 and it seems to work.

Big thanks for that file.  It seems to be the ONLY support for 3dsMax 2020 NIF plugin in existence.

3ds Max 2020 NIF plug in seems to be compatible with Max 2021 as well.   (I lost my copy of max 2020 and could only get 2021 from autodesk..  but I was able to use it just fine so far.

I'm lovin' this person too.   Big thanks for this 2020 compatible file.   It is the only NIF export of its Kind that i've found that works on  3dsMax 2020

Bro, your 2020 plugin just saved my bacon. I'm actually using this for Morrowind, but it's been years since I last did work and I couldn't get an older version of Max. I don't know what else to say except thank you! I can finally get to making fugly models again.

I'm totally newby on 3DS Max and I got a strange error on breast while importing a nif from a custom body made on BodySlide...
I've tried with the CBBE Physics Curvy and the CBBE Curvy, but always got the same results...

New to modding, and was wondering how to install this plugin. I've tried everything I can think of and they all don't work. If someone could help me install this, it would be very appreciated. Also does this work with SSE yet?

I'm new too, this is how I resolved this issue:
unzip and put the .dlu file in the plugins folder located in the root folder of 3ds (in my pc was: C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2017\Plugins, I have other folders of autodesk but this was the correct one...)
the other file, the .ini goes in the folder plugcfg
after this 3ds can import the meshes correctly
