This is actually really cool. I envision a lore-friendly version using this framework that would allow bard characters to play a flute (easy to accomplish by removing the 3 files listed in the description), as well as a lute and a drum (chords and beats), and possibly the war horn animation as well, with custom sounds. I don't think it's something that could be accomplished with TES5EDIT, and I can't run the CK on my laptop.
Edit: in TES5EDIT I managed to change the name of the ocarina to "Magic Flute," but I can't figure out how to change the inventory model to a normal flute. I assume it's the MOD2 entry under Male World Model, but I have no clue what to change it to (clutter\common\Flute01.nif doesn't work). That's really all i think I could accomplish in the CK. Meanwhile, it's easy enough to replace the wav files in the Skyrim data folder.
anyone here in 2018, you can add the full songs by copy and pasting them in the mods folder under the assigned names. a full song is over kill but having at least a 10-20 second song play like in the game is a better feel
Just played through this, was very enjoyable ^_^ The lighting in the dungeon was a little odd but I know it's a WIP. Having to play the notes was adorable.

The gate containing the two treasures that have the secret button was clever - didn't notice the other surprise and it killed me. Damn!
Just submitted a few screenshots. No issues with the mod so far! However, I did add a few things to the little island. A campfire and cooking pot, plus a bench to sit on. I use Hypothermia, and I like not dying in my sleep so having a heat source was absolutely necessary!
great mod! brings me back to the nostalgia days of Oot, do you plan to add the songs from majora's mask next? if so, I'll have to look for the masks, the bremen mask and march were my most favorite things to do in that game, while sniping the deadly creatures.
