I wonder if there is a way to add new staff models to this via script or patcher? It might be worth looking into, I could see this being hotfiles material if you find a way to do that. But if you can't, it's no big deal. Will still probably use this.
I'm pretty sure there would be a way to script this so each staff spawns with a random mesh, which would make compatibility patches easier.
But it wouldn't be automatic, I don't think there's anyway to have a mod like this "just work" with mods that bring in new items, I may be wrong though.
Lootification might help do the trick to avoid the manual exponential growth in record creation: "Lootification on the other hand handles the gruntwork and automatically creates enchanted versions of modded weapons and then adds them to leveled lists where appropriate." http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/32339/?
Sounds cool. There are a ton of errors when running the error check in TES5EDIT. It looks like the CNAM Templates have values but they are unresolved errors.
I saw them too, it looks to be the way the Creation kit applies weapon templates to WEAP objects, almost as if it doesn't apply something in the background which is strange. (You can test yourself, copy a WEAP object and apply a different template to it, then go back to the item selection screen, the "size" column is blank for some reason)
I ran the mod through on a vanilla Skyrim install and didn't encounter any issues or inconsistencies, but feedback from other users would be wonderful.

That being said I'll have a look at this today and see if I could add this.
If the mod adds, say, 20 staffs I'll need to create 300 new records
